Hello fellow commanders,

I am just wondering, now mainly doing PVE, but PVP is fun, i''ve pretty much trained this toon for a marauder ship, and i am wonder, are they are suitable for PVP if the losing the ship ( i mean isk) does not bother very much, however dying in every single battle would be bad. Any comments, or thoughts etc?
I am pretty new guy to the Universe, so if my question sounds to be silly, don't be harsh :)

Thanks for your opinion,

Like all battleships, they only work well when properly supported.

A marauder is used at its full potential in Bastion mode, and that also means you don't receive remote repair from your fleet's logistic pilots.
A marauder in bastion mode has good damage projection and buffer, but relies only on its local active repair.
A marauder not in bastion mode isn't used at its full purpose, and there are other battleships that will fill that role better (faction).

My personal advice if you are pretty new to PvP; dont start with battleships. The first weeks in PvP you will lose most fights, unless you're part of an experienced group. So no point in having embarassing expensive losses without reason. Start with T1 frigates, destroyers and cruisers.

Marauders can be downright overpowered in pvp with the right setups and support and fighting the right targets. Since they can have an ungodly active tank in bastion, are immune to ewar in bastion, and can actually be made capless in the case of shield marauders making them basically invincible to all but INSANE focused damage or till they run out of cap boosters.

Of course their weakness being they don't deal well with cruisers and below when they get up close, and they have only 75m3 dronebay for light drones. And with bastion locking you down, the enemy just needs to bring enough dps at once to nuke you.

Still, they are actually worth the pricetag in some pvp situations currently, give that they have no real counter in pvp when made capless, except for sheer overwhelming dps.

With all that said, take the other player's advise here and start with tech 1 frigs/dessies/cruisers. You may not care about the isk lost with a marauder atm, but you WILL if your learning pvp with them and lose 20+ of them to figure it out, no matter how rich you are, the bills add up.

marads are great in pvp, but only the shield tanking ones because they get capacitor immunity on their tank. the armor ones melt faster than putting butter in a microwave.

and atm, the golem in pairs with only 2 target painters between them both can hit tech 3 cruisers with ease up to 250km (cruise missiles) and btw only use cruise on golems for maximum **** you to falcons. or whatever ewar ship wants to stay at 100km and think they will do somthing to you because they wont. they will die.

vargur is ok if you dont have golem skills.
