Worst confession ever, related to Eve.

Bailed on an alliance op with a really crappy excuse. Actual reason for bailing was because spouse was feeling frisky. Engaged in marital relations. Forgot that I had teamspeak on at the time, set to voice activation, with laptop sitting on stand next to bed.

Came back to eve later and got quite a few tips and suggestions on coital relations from corpmates.

Was running an alliance mission back in the days of multi player lvl 4 more of a social gathering than anything. The wife had become an Eve widow, till she was coughing in the door way naked. I left that nights social gathering.

Back in 2008, I worked as a director for a corporation called Heretic Logistics (LOAF.), an industrial offshoot of Heretic Army (ANTI) meant to serve its ship and module needs. Both corporations were members of The Covenant Alliance (TCA), a renter alliance of TRI living out in Deklein, and if anyone remembers these names - congratulations! You have an excellent memory. CEO of Heretic Logistics at that time was a man by the name of Fat Edd/Vader. We thought this guy was okay. We were wrong.

Although he doesn't actually play the game at the moment, Sahaquiel Faust, through the many years since that point, has kept the Myrmidon that inspired this whole preposterous affair in his hangar in Dodixie. We call it the Blamethrower.

This is, by far, one of the best "failcascade" stories I have ever heard.

My favourite part about it is how it was entirely unintentional. You've got Istvaan Shogaatsu infiltrating Ubiqua Seraph and robbing them for everything. You've got BOB's directors trashing the alliance and selling their assets to Goonswarm. You've got Kartoon then turning on Goonswarm and doing precisely the same thing to them. All of these failcascades took weeks, months, years of careful planning.

Then there was me, who crashed an alliance completely by accident by selling a Myrmidon to someone else in the same corporation.

My first corp I ran was a small one for irl friends. We let a guy we didn't know join so that we could laugh at him. We got grief dec'ed and all abandoned ship without telling him, knowing that we could just join up together in a new corp.

For years, before they changed the icons, I was reprocessing faction/deadspace modules because I didn't know what they were and there was never a market to sell them (except on occasion).

This is rather recent. Oops

So, *cough* anyway. Ummm ... we are on the way home as a fleet. There is a drag bubble, we ping up to it then we all start to jump through the gate. I was one of the ones to get through quick. The rest hit an interdiction bubble and got caught. Figured... I will just wait on this side to burn through.
I .... have this thing for drones. >.>
(One day EVE news will cover a story and they will ask, "So, why did you escalate to super caps?" and the reply will be, "It all started when we went back for Jen's drones" )
Right. There I was picking up enemy drones, (day dreaming away, half listening to the comms and fight on the other side of the gate) .... when along comes another alliance to dunk on us. (Guess who? Roll ) and I am way out from the gate ...
My fleet appears and the logi team probably over heated to get to me and save me.

They managed ... but I couldn't tell them at the time that:
a) I was out there collecting drones.
b) Forgot to turn my hardeners on.

<.<
>.>

I am wondering how many people perceive their post as their Best confession while everyone reading it assumes it is their worst?

When I first started I flew repeatedly into lo sec to get skill books at a cheap price. Upon trying to return to hi sec my ships kept blowing up. Had this happen 2 or 3 times and assumed that for some reason my sec status was too low to travel back and forth between lo and hi sec, causing my ships to blow up.

Months later I discovered the kill mails I was on.

But then again when I was a kid I thought mustaches grew out of men's noses.

A long time ago, on another toon, I used to think laser Moas were a good idea.
At first, even on Garamonde, I thought laser Thoraxes were just as clever.

Don't even get me started on thinking Battleships had to have small guns for "point defense".

"Yeah we can totally catch that Garmur, just overheat your AB."
-FC Azda attempting to have a fleet of 4, slingshot a linked Garmur in nothing but AB frigates.

or

"Yeah, we can probably take on a Stabber and an Omen, we just have to close the gap. Don't forget to turn on your Damage Controls!"
-FC Azda's even earlier bright idea. The cruisers in question killed 5 of us in about 30 seconds.

My best so far came a couple weeks in. I'm CEO to a small PvP corp, and I log in to a fellow newbie spamming corp chat asking for help, turns out he'd been held hostage for like an hour after losing a duel, his opponent scrammed his pod and wouldn't kill him or let him go "because he insulted him". My corp mate didn't know you could self destruct, but to make things more interesting I instead told him to move his pod in as close to the other guy's ship as possible and accept my fleet invite. Couple minutes later, I'm warping in with a Catalyst with the biggest blasters I can fit, a few volleys worth of faction antimatter, a web, scram and "battle music" blaring in my headphones.

BANG BANG BANG BANG.

Justice is a Catalyst Twisted. Having him put a bounty on me, make my kill right public, and refuse my convo invite made it all the sweeter. Worth being Concorded over, no question.

I'm guessing my real worst moment is still in the making, hopefully more better-er moments are too.

Grrr.

I can one up you there.

Back then I did not think of a "required size" for ships guns nor consistency for DPS.

Meaning...

I used a mix of long range rails/arty with AC/blasters and of various sizes too.

Yes, various sizes. And if that screwed up my powergrid I just left other rack slots empty.

Yes it's OK to kill me.

Drunk. Autopiploting. Caldari t1 hauler. Nothing fit at all. 30 billion in mods and BPOs in cargo.

Did I mention really really drunk?

"Eff it. It's late. No one's going to notice.

Ohhh, hey, that's a new pr0nstar I haven't seen before . . . ."

Just a scant 4 jumps from Jita, pop goes the hauler. :(
I don't even think I heard the alerts telling me my ship was dying.

Just alt-tabbed back at some point in my station. Damn.

RNG gods were, if not good to me, bad to them. Only about 1.1 mill of stuff dropped. The rest went *poof.*

EDIT: I just looked up that kill. The numbers were worse than I originally remembered. On both ends.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon

Mixing guns. Crossing tank types. Paying zero attention to skill and role bonuses.
Let's not even mention the most classic newbie mistake that most players never actually get over: trying to fly every single ship like a close-range brawler frig, forever (ie: never not orbit at 700m)....
