The calculation looks okay:
[batch size] x [runs] x [price]
....the only thing I can thing might be wrong is the [runs] part - could be the API return the wrong value or something wrong in the jEveAssets code.

It would be really helpful if I could borrow an API Key from you (I don't manufacturer anything myself).
1. Create the API Key by clicking here
2. email it to niklaskr@gmail.com
I will let you know when you can delete it :)

You're welcome - but, you're indeed lucky you reported the bug at a time, I had time and energy to work on jEveAssets. Not everyone is that lucky... Oops

I'm not succeeding at using the Stockpile EFT import feature. All I get from selecting the Import->Eve Fitting Tool command is a message box that says "Not valid input."

It seems like there should be an option someplace to specify where the EFT files can be found.

You need to copy it to the clipboard: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+X (on windows).
It reads the clipboard only, no files, no mess....

If you keep getting the error, send me an email and I will look into it...

EDIT:
I guess, the "fail import" messages, could be a lot clearer. I will see about getting that done :)

Howdy, having an issue with the software. Installed and launched fine, but for some reason I can't input my API key into the account import window. The window is responsive to the hotlinks and the cancel button, but when I try to type something into the window I just get a pinging noise. If I cancel out of it the rest of the application seems to be responsive. Just can't get this one part to work. Any thoughts?

edit: The rest of the software is responsive, but it seems to lag quite a bit.

edit2: Here is a short video describing my issue:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f84Zm4X3Ewc&feature=youtu.be

edit3: hmmm. This issue seems to be broader than Jeveassets. My java control panel is lagging and behaving weird as well.

You can see the weird behavior of the control panel here:

1) The top input box only accept numbers (because the ID is always a number).
2) I suggest you uninstall all version of java and install the latest version from java.com
3) jEveAssets is a resource intensive program, especial with large data sets (but, as, you haven't imported your API Key, that is not the problem here).
4) I would love to help you, with your Java problems, but, I do not know what is wrong, sorry...

no problem, I've put out some more general feelers about the JRE issue, I don't think the issue is with your software, but with the Java install. Thanks for the reply.

Good to hear it's all sorted...

@Opaque Intent
To be perfectly honest, I haven't been following the development of CREST, so, I have no idea what new features it could bring to jEveAssets. I don't even know if there is a Java library in development for CREST.

Re-writing the API back-end == a lot of work

So, there has to be a very good reason for doing it:
1) The old API is closing
2) Some epic new feature in CREST, that jEveAssets really needs
I can't answer when or if 1 or 2 will happen (as I said, I don't follow CREST development) but, that is when I'll start working on it.

Hi

I keep having problem with updates on my mac. I have latest Java, updated Eve Asset (version 9.1). All works fine until I want to update either version (eventually had to do it manually) or Static Data. As soon as i will confirm to update it comes up with "To view this content you need to install the Java Runtime Environment". Reinstalled Java multiple times now and still have this error. Tried to google some kind of fix but coming up with no solution (or asking wrong question).

Anyone else have this problem and knows fix for it?

That is very strange. Sadly I can't offer any help, as I'm mac-clueless.

You can download the data files manually, though (as they are just served from a normal http server):

A word of warning first: Use "Save link as...".
Some of the links go to large xml files. Your browser/computer may have a hard time showing them to you.

http://eve.nikr.net/jeveassets/update/data/data/data.dat
http://eve.nikr.net/jeveassets/update/data/data/flags.xml
http://eve.nikr.net/jeveassets/update/data/data/items.xml
http://eve.nikr.net/jeveassets/update/data/data/jumps.xml
http://eve.nikr.net/jeveassets/update/data/data/locations.xml

Put them in the "data" directory of jEveAssets (overwrite the old ones)

I hope that will at least help you get the latest data set :)

EDIT:
btw, if there is a "More info", button, posting the content might help

CREST is just JSON so Gson, Jackson etc work fine. CREST brings independence from eve-central API for prices and price history, which is important when someone has assets in the back end of nowhere where there's no E-C data.

Enable price uploader in EVEMon, if you're "in the back end of nowhere".
Assuming, your "back end" have any market at all.
If it does not have one (WH), no amount of cREST can help that.

Price data sure is important information, but, we already got very good price data, from the price data providers.
But, I will, try to make time look into CREST and see what it has to offer.

I did work on a JSON project some time ago, if I remember correct, getting the JSON into Objects did require some work.
I think I used Gson. Maybe there is a better fit for CREST - but, that also require research and work to figure out.

@Tonto Auri
I agree that the current price data providers does an awesome job. But, direct game data, is direct and may offer something more (again, I don't know all the details of what CREST offers).

You can now download the latest static date from:
http://eve.nikr.net/jeveassets/data.zip
It will be updated every time the static data is updated.
So, if you have problems with auto-update, there is now a workaround.

I'm not sure if this has already been asked, I couldn't find it in me to search through the threadnaught this has become.

I'm trying to use the tool to total up the value of all my assets, but it doesn't seem to include BPOs that are being used in manufacturing jobs, in fact they seem to appear on my assets tab as BPCs. Is there a way to include BPOs that are in use in the total assets value?

@Holgrak Blacksmith
They change the Industry Jobs API some time ago and removed the possibility to identify BPO/BPC. Instead they made the Blueprints API. I'm working on the Blueprints API as we speak, it will be in the next feature release.

Excellent, that will be a really useful improvement.
