Launcher throws error

I'm using EVE via Steam, and today when I go to start it up, it says "Sorry, but an error occured while processing your request. Error code: {some random hash of numbers/letters each time}

I tried running the repair program to no avail, and I don't know how to sign in without using Steam.

I can sign into my non-Steam alt just fine.

Me too. I tried launching EVE directly using its executable, but then it always returns "Username/password not found"

I have the same issue, sent a ticket to the support team with the error code, we'll see how this goes

Having the same issue as well. Did an uninstall and reinstall through steam and it no longer lets me in. I was in game and logged out and tried getting back into the game so I could redeem some of my steam items. I could no longer get in. This is only affecting people trying to login, because I have friends in game that are using steam.

Same problem!!! Can I move my character off of steam? I'd rather have a traditional account.

Having the same issue as well. Seems to be a steam-based error as everyone so far seems to be using steam. Its somewhere between steam and CCP, I would presume. Hopefully this gets fixed soon.

I have already sent a ticket to CCP customer support, but they said they could not solve the problem on the steam server

Regrettably, we in Customer Support will not be able to provide assistance regarding this matter as this issue is unfortunately on Steam's end. The issue will therefore persist until they resolve it as we will not be able to do so. From what I was reading you can transfer your account, but it will cost you. From what I was reading you need to have an active steam account and an active CCP account (20 dollars) and also a 20 dollar transfer cost. There was something else there than said both accounts have to have 30 days of game time left. Also your character is unplayable for 10 hours as a security protection on the account.

Do you think ccp can give the steam users a password? because the account name is your steam id but i cant find the password and it wont let me change it even with the user and email info.

You are authenticating against steams servers and not CCP. So you have no account information stored with CCP.

You are authenticating against steams servers and not CCP. So you have no account information stored with CCP.


It does store some account information one the CCP side, but if you notice when you are signed in to account management, it says STEAM User XXXXXX where X is usually a bunch of numbers. There is an account and some sort of authentication setup between steam and CCP, but they dont want to change that setup even if users are willing to pay. THe only other way to keep this from happening is transfer your character to a non-Steam account, which will cost 2 plex or $20

Also having the same issue(s). I've encountered this before. I took a day or so to resolve if I remember, glad to see it's still happening, yay!

It looks like the Steam Web API is down. The EVE-through-Steam authentication must depend on the Steam Web API (makes sense).

When that goes green I would expect to be able to log in again.

I don't work for CCP or Valve so I have no idea why we can log in with Steam on the Eve website, but we can't authenticate to the Eve servers through Steam.

But I am pretty confident that the reason we can't log in is because the Steam Web API is down.

I don't know how to get my Steam Eve credentials, so I don't know. I cannot log in to the game through my Steam account, but I can log in just fine with an account I bought with a starter pack via Amazon (ie a regular Eve account).
