President Jacus Roden and whole FDU are criminals and must be sent into clear field, stand in line with their faces turned to a wall and shot with a bullet to each of their foreheads.
Right.

Honored are the dead, for their legacy guides us.

Logistically difficult.
Unless the wall is armed.

Has the war-like mentality throughout the Federation that was heightened five years ago come down to a point where the ever critical hawk bloc would consider an alternative to Roden? While his attitude and pro-action stance is pragmatic when action needs to be on the front foot to secure the Federation's security, have we passed that point where the wiser stance would be to secure the borders, focus on economic regrowth and maintain relationships through diplomatic channels?

Not to go entirely dove, but to drop the aggressive tactics and pointless sabre-rattling?

Roden. A war hawk... There's more to that geezer than one simple label.

Roden's no Hawk, he just had their backing at the last election. The Hawk bloc is not war minded by default, they're pragmatic and vote for effectiveness over certain ideals.

The question is less "Is Roden a Hawk?" and more "Is Roden still the man for the Hawks?"

Roden's more a Vulture than any single label.

Typically speaking, a candidacy announcement would be followed by some form of campaign details and goals to be striven for during your tenure.

Do we have a full list of candidates yet?

I have been quite busy, but I would be interested to see what the alternatives to Roden are. I may not like the man, but he's proven effective in terms of rallying the military industrial complex behind Federal office. I'll likely be unable to vote, my current employment such that it is, but I look forwards to seeing if any fresh faces can provide cleaner, more wholesome representation for the good people of the Federation.

Gallente democracy is an archaic practice that should have no place within the modern times that we live in. I believe that our Caldari method; in which dictators are appointed through violent coup d'états, corporate civil war, and the whims of faceless oligarchs to be a much more viable alternative.

Depends on if his current position comes with enough perks to keep him sweet towards Roden. Having carte blanche to run his personal army (the Eagles) is probably enough power to keep him sated, but I might be wrong. The executive branch isn't as clandestine or immediate in it's execution, but it does offer the chance to shape policy I have no doubt he still dreams of.

While I doubt he'll go for the presidency again at this point, I do think he'll be running if a liberal who cares about the enforcing the Federation constitution wins the election.

Hello Gallente.
Look at your President.
Now back to me.
Now back to your President.
Now back to me.
Sadly, he isn't me.
But if he stopped being a two faced criminal and switched to being a boss he could have policies like me.

Look down.
Back up.
Where are you?
You're in Caille, with the President your President could be like.

What’s in your hand,
back at me.
I have it, it’s a vexor filled with high quality freedom!.
Look again, the freedoms are now Morphite.

Anything is possible when your President is a boss and not a two faced criminal.
I’m on a Phoenix.

How is it that we still don't have a full list? Or that I can't seem to find one compiled somewhere?

I try not to let my brain leak out of my ears via propaganda like the post above (as entertaining as it is), but is it me or is it very difficult to get a proper breakdown of the actual policies? Was it like this last time? Am I wearing a tinfoil hat?

I was in school the last time, so my interaction with it was completely different - Does anyone here have any more insight into the candidates' policies, or at least who some of them even are, other than Roden, Blaque and Foley Jones?

So far, I have this:

Roden:
'Probably the same', 'fairly effective', he shouldn't be eligible for a second term/is that precedent now set?, criminal background.

Blaque:
Presumably whatever allows the BE to continue functioning; we are all expecting him to roll over apparently.

Leveaux:
???, might be, "I can run, so let's."

Meester:
Remembering the Shiigeru victory, fighting Sansha, fighting Caldari, Exploration, fighting rats, reacquiring Molyneux, anti-CONCORD policing and replacing them with our Navy. Supporting Matari interests, ending slavery, increase spending on military and science, lifting restrictions on drugs, helping people help themselves.

Jones:
Vexors that literally turn freedom into Morphite and a Dashing Attitude. Also; a President that rides Phoenixes as a matter of course.

I think this means we officially have more 'observational critique' candidates than we have actual candidates. Send help or I might have to vote for one of them in observational protest.

Thanks? Most capsuleers seem to make quite a point of being unnerving, so it's not out of the ordinary in the grand scheme. I'll never be threatening, so this will have to do I suppose if I want to fluster my enemies.

To be honest though, this is just what I really look like; I'm 24 and didn't opt to change much on the clones. If it's too much for you, I suppose you can blame my parents. I know I'd like to. They didn't envision this particular career path for me when considering attributes.

Thanks mom and dad. The space pirates are really likely to take me seriously now. Can we also get 'soft target' written on my entirely spacious forehead, too?

Let's hope that the people manage to give those stiffs in Luminaire a good shake-up in the polls.
We should be moving away from violence with the Caldari State, we should move up to more dialog based interaction.
That said, we should at least be in a position of strength to negotiate, but thanks to the efforts of the FDU, that situation seems to be coming about.

Despite apparent rumors to the contrary, I am not running for presidency and have no intentions of doing so at this time.

A presidential candidate should (theoretically) have some understanding of how to preside over a multi-planetary, inter-system governmental body and its constituents. A bit of experience in a similar capacity is certainly a bonus.

I idly spent half an hour working out various angles and charges needed to ricochet different projectiles off different kinds of materials to pull off this feat. Logistically difficult indeed, as it required quite a few napkins and looking up some ballistic studies from behind galnet paywalls.

I think I got it licked though, if Roden and the entire FDU are willing to give it a shot? It'd be one for the history books, if nothing else. Just building a wall that big would secure a lot of jobs, which'd be quite a platform to campaign on.
