[Suggestion/Idea] Attribute Skillbooks?

Hello, folks!

One of the things that we've had to deal with forever in EVE is the fact that beyond implants or remaps, there hasn't been any good way to boost our attributes. And for those of us who want to train all the things quickly, there's only so much we can do.

This gave me an idea: With Rhea doing away with loss of skillpoints on death except for strategic cruiser subsystems, why not introduce new skillbooks to give permanent attribute boosts?

Here's how I figure it'd work: all books would boost their appropriate attributes by one level each, but what the prerequisites would be, I'm not sure - perhaps some advanced level of Cybernetics and some other skill? Anyway. Here's how I feel the attribute breakdown would look:

Charisma: Primary Willpower, Secondary Intelligence. To get people to rally behind you, you need to be confident in your speech (WIL) and have also thoroughly researched what your audience wants to hear (INT).

Intelligence: Primary Memory, Secondary Perception. One gains increased knowledge based on both past experiences (MEM) and by analyzing what's currently in front (and occcasionally beside and behind) them (PER).

Willpower: Primary Charisma, Seconday Perception. Not only does one have to know how to rally others to battle (CHA), they also have to be watchful of their surroundings and know when it's time to press the attack or withdraw (PER).

Perception: Primary Memory, Secondary Willpower. In order to stay alert, one must be constantly remembering where everything is in-system and what has been in-system in the past (MEM), but one must also be willing to tirelessly keep watch if it means saving their friends (WIL).

Memory: Primary Intelligence, Secondary Charisma. The best way to remember things is to not only demonstrate you know the material (INT), but convince others that you're not talking out of both ends while you do so (CHA).

Because of how powerful these skillbooks would be (a permanent +5 to all attributes? Yes, please!), I feel they would have a heavy training time multiplier - I was thinking around 12x, or at the very LEAST, an 8x multiplier. And, again, I'm not certain about what the prerequisites ought to be - I'll happily take ideas for suggestion.

So, having said that, your thoughts?

3/10, but only for the effort.

A professional astro-bastard was not available so they sent me.

The 10 points the old learning skillbooks gave each attribute are now given to every pilot as part of the base stat.

So, in short, you already have them.

assuming not a troll, hey its xmas eve so I can be less jaded, here is why they were not so good.

You first months were tedious as you banged out fun skills like ships and guns and support with these skills. Didn't do the learning skills, the fun trains suffered. Did the fun trains, the learning skills suffered that made the fun trains slower. Can you say vicious cycle? I knew you could.

There was cost involved as well. The full series of books wasn't cheap (isk can be light at the start in this game at any rate). I recall helping noobs out floating them like 25+ mil to get them. As a nice corpy did the same for me when I started so I kept that karma flowing.

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

if it makes you feel any better a few days ago some one came up with an idea to implement crews and described them to work the same as the rigs we already have

You mean 'reintroduce'?

EVE used to have those. Hit your favourite search engine, 'EVE Online Learning Skills' and you should be able to find their history and why they were removed some years back.

This was good for a laugh, I personally liked the learning skills, they are great for people who already have characters and thus don't need to be sad about not having fun for the first three months on each character. They are also good for new players who play eve due to their masochistic tendencies and not for actually having fun.
