Jump Freighter ?

If you try and jump a JF somewhere, will it tell you if it's too far? Or will you stop at a system that's as far as you can go and have to wait and be vulnerable and have to wait and jump again?

It will tell you. You can only jump to an active cyno and unless it's destroyed that's exactly where you'll arrive. If she ship lighting the cyno is popped you'll land randomly in system.

Nope the system says nothing at all because you don't see the beacon in the jump list if it's beyond your jump range.

Getting dropped randomly in the destination system is somewhat rare occurrence these days since it requires the cyno to be destroyed while the system is loading up for you and these days the system loads up equally fast whether arriving through cyno or using a stargate.

you should plan your trip before you undock... ude dotlan, garpa or something else...
and with jf having midpoints on stations are a good idea as you can fit cloak... and sh#@ can always hit the fan...

Incorrect, you see any cyno in fleet independent of distance. You get a message if you try to jump beyond your jump range.
