I believe it is just another star.

CCP's sand box is EVE Online.  The sand is owned by CCP.  We pay them a monthly fee to throw the sand at each other.  That is all that is here, so move along. Nothing more to be seen.

I saw that too and went back to check. It is only visible from one region (Domain, right?)

Just another star I suppose.

It's confusing at the moment. It appears in different places depending on where you are in the universe unlike the Caroline's Star anomaly, and sometimes not at all. It may be we're seeing multiple different stars appearing brighter than normal due to the new rendering system.
