Thought stealth "walking in stations" after reading the thread topic. Thought to myself, "Ah, this will be an easy one". "Just quickly read the OP statement, give a small reply saying, hey you are dumb". Now after reading your thread I think it is probably best for you reinvest your money into this great game called, "Hello Kitty Online".

tl;dr get out.

I don't doubt this has been suggested before, if so why was it dismissed?

*points to Ultima Online and "Trammel Server"*

The lessons we learned from this are...

- it will initially create a huge influx of new subs.

- everyone who is smart will move their money making activities to the "safer area"...
---- which will then distort and imbalance the in-game economy because everything is based more or less upon ship destruction and production... and the safe area provides a place for production and use without the destruction part.

- there will be less of a reason to work together with other people. This is because people in "safe zones" have little reason to cooperate with others.

- the "normal server" will become depopulated as more and more people migrate to where most of the other players are (i.e. the "safer server").

- you'll start cutting into one of the biggest draws for many dedicated players; the ruthlessness of it.

- end results;
---- PvE stuff usually get's consumed and maxed out with 6 month a year.
---- Players get bored.
---- Even if new stuff is introduced, it requires more and more DEV work to maintain it.
---- The game dies a slow death as it isn't what the "older players" came to EVE for... and its PvE content will never be as good as "other" MMOs.

There are complaints about people not being able to fly the large ships without them being destroyed by other players whether or not there in secure space.

Should be translated to "I want to fly large ships without them being destroyed", per usual the "wouldn't it be better for the game if" is nothing other than "I WANTS IT, who gives a **** about the rest!"

Oh boy I feel bad for the OP for the amount of flak he's about to take. Then again, knowing what this game is all about, he kind of brought it upon himself Roll

A simple explanation as to why it may not be a great idea would of been enough (and kinda what I was hoping for!) but I now see that bringing up ideas on eve online forum meets with hostility, I'm sorry.

You could have found the answer pretty easy without sticking your head above the rampant and waving your panties around for everyone to sneer at.

PS copy pasting your post from a youtube video that you then link in subsequent post reveals more about you in 30 seconds than I would want to know in a life time.

I believe the above recommendations to the game would reduce the level of stress felt by players when they startup, give veteran and new players more to do and provide addiction story to the EVE universe.

It's that stress that makes EVE fun and unique. The adrenaline spikes, the shakes, the loss of ISK that represents time and effort to gather that ISK - those give real meaning to the events of EVE. (Insofar that a computer game can have any meaning.) EVE isn't about a curated solo or co-op experience with a connect-the-dots storyline.

Have you seen the This is EVE video?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AdfFnTt2UT0
It's a very accurate representation of what EVE is about. Your suggestion goes counter to that. A video showing what your advocating for would be dreadfully boring, I'd say. It's not something that CCP should be working on, in my opinion and the opinion of most EVE players.

This new server could also hold tournaments or PvP to PvE matches with ships they have earned in game or maybe give players basic ships to fight one another with simply for the fun of it.

If you want an inconsequential EVE experience, you should log on to Singularity, the test server. https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Singularity Markets are seeded with all normal items at 100 ISK - even freighters. Which can be insured and self-destructed for billions of ISK. There are a few systems designated for PvP, and you can explore to your heart's content without ever seeing anybody.

ps - Random observation: I had the This Is EVE video playing in the background after I linked it for this post. I've watched it enough that I could picture each scene in my mind's eye based only off the audio. P

I have a new way of playing.

I f*** with people on the forums. Then I f**** with them in game.

I pay for it with real life dollars that I convert to ISK by being f****ing successful in real life.

And I enjoy the hell out of all of it.

Oh wait. You wanted a *NEW* way to play EvE. Not a NUDE one.

Sorry. Can't help you there. They sounded pretty similar when I said them out loud.

I honestly feel like I just read fifty shades of dumb. --CCP Falcon
