I just logged back into my character after almost a year, and was rewarded with the following ten-month-old evemail:

*Snip* Please refrain from posting private in game correspondence. ISD Ezwal.

^^
This is just precious, with one easy payment for 400 mil isk, I tie up one of his alt slots for two months. He sits there waiting to see when the end of the wardec will be, the whole while literally no one was on to come get him or his corpies, and then reprocesses the alt out of shame. 8 weeks of wardeck: 400 mil isk. This evemail: priceless.

So... You war declare his alt that he doesn't use, so he decides to wait to see how much ISK you'll pour into a useless endeavour, and then you think you came out on top?

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but that does sound pretty stupid.

Thank you for deleting 400 million ISK from the game economy. Deleting larger amounts will have a larger impact on the game economy, so feel free to sell everything you own, then biomass your main.

it wasn't just the 400 mil that was deleted, it was the isk that his alt could have been doing that was also deleted, causing more isk sink than just the pittance of 400 mil. CODE of all people should understand the importance of interrupting other's productivity! Tis no pursuit nobler

Except you didn't interrupt him. He told you he wasn't doing anything with his alt. So he didn't lose a thing. And as for the alt taking up a slot, I doubt he had any plans for that slot, either or he would have gone ahead and deleted it.

Why biomass it at all if the character slot wasn't something he needed?

Because he wasn't interested in keeping that character anymore. I've created and deleted dozens of characters in my time playing Eve. Sometimes you have an idea for a character, you play it for a while, then decide you don't like it after all.

Really, this situation just looks like you wasted your own time and money.

it takes more time to biomass a character than it does to log in once and declare war. the checking back during the two months to see if the wardec was over is what tickles me the most. also not liking a character doesn't mean you'd biomass it unless you wanted to use the slot for a character you did like, and he explicitly said he intended to do it earlier and instead had that slot tied up just to check on the status of the wardec. the money would have been a sunk cost either way as long as someone remained in the corp.

I got an amazing eve mail, I won't say who wrote it tho as it is forbidden to do so in the forums. So, I killed this active, guess veteran, french low sec pirate and troll him a bit and leave system. Seconds later I get a mail:

"Varathius, you are like Belgian King, you exist, but nobody know why"

Stuff like this is what keeps me killing and loosing ships in low sec.

As a hisec carebear, I have to confess this entire thread is just over my head. The twisting plot line with wins hidden in wins hidden in wins is just too much for my little carebear brain to handle.

I am just as confused by the Winningest Charlie of them all.
