Officer Training School

Hi, I'm Callduron and I'd like to introduce you to my new corp in Eve Online.

I'm a veteran FC with a background of running fleets for TEST and The Bastion and the CFC, mostly small ships like Interceptors and Assault Frigates. I also have a long history of pvping in low sec in frigates in small gangs. I took over TEST's fleet 1 in the battle of 6VDT where I got to command 250 ahacs and logi and have stepped up to help with many other fleets.

I've run well over 100 fleets.

I hit upon the idea of creating an environment that would pursue military excellence, a game counterpart to West Point, Sandhurst and the great Prussian war colleges of the 19th century.

The Officer Training School is a corporation for pvp pilots who are interested in going beyond being a simple line member. As a member of our corp we will expect you to take an interest in a wide range of tasks that make fleets go better. We hope some of the people who join will go on to become FCs, we hope all of the players who join will go on to become great pvpers.

While we will need you to muck in and help out with a wide range of tasks you will also pick a specialism for which you are our "go to" person. For example one member might specialise in external public intel like Eve Who Eve Kill zKill Failheap and Eve O to use publicly available information to analyse weaknesses. Another person might be our Master Scout. Someone else might specialise in monitoring hostile and neutral titans. Within limits you get to choose your specialisation so long as it's a) useful and b) not already being done by someone.

The Officer Training School will be a transitional corp where people can come in, improve and then go on to other opportunities. You're welcome to stay as long as you like. And we will keep an open door for anyone who leaves to try something else and then wants to come back. We understand that we're a niche playstyle and a training corp. We hope that most members will have so much fun they'll be glad to have us as a home to come back to between adventures.

We are a member of The Bastion alliance and the Clusterfuck Coalition. We live in Vale of the Silent.

The people we are looking for will have the following qualities:

- able and willing to talk on Mumble

- interested in Eve tactics and strategy.

- interested in learning to be a better pilot

- keen to contribute to fleet effectiveness. We don't need everyone to be a FC (although we'll love it if you want to) but we do require people to be more than just a F1 Monkey.

- enthusiastic and full of ideas.

- willing to tough it out if we decide to try something mad like camping PL's undock in thrashers or some other off the wall experiment.

- willing to adjust their training queue to suit the needs of the corp. We'll try not to ask you to learn a required skill too often but sometimes to make something work we'll need to get everyone into the same ships.

- EU timezone

- enough skill points to participate enjoyably in nullsec pvp and money making.

- a number of pap links per month. A pap link is a participation link, an internet link that a CFC FC gives you to click on after you've flown in his fleet for a certain time. It's the basic way that corps are evaluated in the Coalition, if we don't get paps we could get removed from the Coalition. Everyone needs to contribute to our military effort. (Only applies to mains, not to alts). To be honest it's not a big deal to get the minimum.

- willing to set up the alliance and coalition IT infrastructure (which is a bit of a chore when you join but allows you to access lots of interesting content). We require you to be on our voice comms and our instant messaging service - it's how we defend ourselves.

- willingness to deploy when required. This means that instead of living in your usual home you'll live somewhere else, usually for a few weeks, while we try to achieve some strategic pvp objectives.

- if you're being particularly bad with losing expensive ships for stupid reasons we may require you to shape up and stop being so silly.

- occasionally a player may be turned down for security reasons.

If interested join our public channel OffTS in game.

We have our first recruits and our first kills! Join channel OffTS if you're interested in joining us.

We offer

- corp pvp operations. These will often be experimental and may even be based on your idea of what we could try.

- alliance and coalition pvp operations. These require you to fly specified doctrine ships and are normally eligible for SRP reimbursement if your ship gets destroyed.

- SRP reimbursement for solo pvp

- first rate IT infrastructure including voice comms forums and messaging services

- excellent ratting in the form of nullsec signatures and anomalies

- excellent mining and PI

- superb industry infrastructure including fully upgraded refinery factory and research outposts.

- money making support. If you have trouble getting isk we'll work out something you can do in our space to support yourself in luxurious fashion.

- splendid post Phoebe location. We are next door to hostiles and our main staging system for the alliance is just 7 light years from the Forge region. This will allow us cheap imports from Empire even after the jump nerfs.

- a chance to make Eve history as nullsec is rocked by the seismic revamps CCP will be putting through over the next 12 months and many sov holders will crumble and die.

- access to the CFC special interest groups, community and career structure. (You can for example sign up as a skirmish commander for the CFC and take coalition fleets out for fights).

- and most importantly, a chance to enjoy pvping with a group of enthusiastic like-minded people who are interested in what your opinion is on traversal velocity and target painting.

We took a corp roam out last night, just 3 of us. 2 Merlins and a Bantam. Turns out people really don't like Bantams in low sec FW space, I had my work cut out!

Fortunately I had two great wing men.

We do all sorts of engagement from solo and small gang in ships that cost under 10 million to massive fleet fights involving titans.

And you know what's even better than great pvp?

Great pvp where the alliance pays you for lost ships. Now let me file my 2 dead Bantams for SRP, stop by OffTS chat if you want to join us!
