Player-owned stargates guesses

Ok, let's start speculating about future player-owned stargates revealed in Prophecy trailer. (I can not find any threads related to it because of forum search error, so I start the new one).

How do you think this system will be implemented?

My guess as follows: players can build permanent destructible stargates that connect w-space systems. This is the least intrusive way of implementing it according to current state of gameplay.

I see some evidence to this theory. CCP added new w-space systems and increased rate of wormhole spawns. At the same time they cut the ability to quickly mive across the universe with jump drives. Don't forget new roaming sleeper drones in k-space.

All this and new Thera system indicates, that developers want to mix w-space and k-space in some way. But they can not just generate infinite amount of new w-space systems or cut existing stargate connections.
So, I think, they want to increase k-space <-> w-space traffic firstly and then introduce player-owned stargates to increase w-space <-> w-space traffic, which will lead to even more k-space <-> w-space traffic.

Any other ideas?

Find wormhole, stabilize wormhole, build stargate, add toll booth.

that is exactly what was done they added more w space. As for adding and removing stargates they have done both by putting in what was called smuggler gates and the super highway to Yulai then removed it and gave us Jita

I think it will be a random wormhole type stargate, that will open directly to a waiting goon supercap fleet, wherever they may be stationed at the time.

We now have Thera, and the new shattered wormholes, the Sansha and Sisters of EVE were definitely up to something.........

Now If we could build player built stargates out of Thera and from there on outwards, It would explain why it would become a major trade centre, and means that it is not controlled by concord, nullsec, hisec, losec, or wormhole space, and is accessable to all.

Seems like a plan.........

Perhaps the stargates will allow players to connect to these new shattered wormholes, but that concerns me because it would appear that these new wormholes are just re-purposed systems taken out of Jove space.

I certainly hope it is an issue of "well, we don't really use these systems, let's re-purpose them", and not one of hardware limitations preventing the cluster from ever getting larger.

It will be released in an un-sandbox, NPC/themepark friendly way with no real depth or purpose

it will just add more invincible ageless infrastructure to nullsec that does nothing but diminish the sandbox because its their in its form forever, unchanging, by whatever asshat decided to place it somewhere first.

Honestly, until it come sout Im going to go ahead and assume it will be a terrible waste of time with no real direction, that way if it IS, im not dissappointed, and if it isnt, CCP pleasantly surprises me.

First, you anchor 2 Ragnaroks.

Second, attach one end of giant rubber band to each titan.

Third, align titans to destination starsystem.

Fourth, place ship in center, pull back and release.

I guess that's only the Minmatar one....

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

how about launcher deployable and 30 second lifespan "charges" that create temporary warp "gates" similar to worm holes only semi stable and allows one ship through, which connects up with another star system adjacent to it....so in effect it is a Mobile Warp Gate.......that could become a useful way to counter the permanent structure issue, also it allows players to move about with some sense that they "own" that gate...idk maybe it'd stop some of the traffic jams....so there is that, new content as well and it doesn't make the old technology obsolete either. nor do i think it'd be too hard to introduce and implement into the game mechanics

I'm guessing we'll get player owned stargates when we can destroy stations and the door in the CQ opens.

new space will only be accessible via wh's, you will have to stabilize it and make a gate, otherwise you are stuck. only way to expand is to get a new wh to another claimable system with no gates.

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

Pretty sure those stargates will lead into milky way galaxy with introducing new faction: terrans.
