Tried to gift Eve Online for another.

Well I tried to gift Eve Online for a friend through Steam but sadly the " Gift " box is dark after adding it to the checkout cue.
And this is before the sale ends.

That is logical.

As buying it through steam automatically gives you a recurring subscription by Steam (Steam will automatically deduct money each month to keep the sub going).

So, do you really want to pay each month for your friend. Likely not, so Steam prevented you from gifting EVE to a friend.



If you want to give your friend EVE, give him a buddy invite link and just let him subscribe. Hint: You also gain something from it this wayP

The best way to gift EVE would be to buddy invite an acc, then pay for it, then use the PLEX from the buddy invite to sub for an additional month.

Gives you ~81 days of subscription before you need to sub again. Plenty of time for fresh meat to decide if they want to stick with the game.

That way you're not lumping a friend with a financial burden they're not sure if they want.
