Did CCP really make this yet another cash cow for owners of Outer Ring? I though they learned their lesson on the Orca BPO's.

From what I am seeing its only available second hand or in Outer Ring.

ORE owns outer ring. ORE is an NPC corporation and when ORE BPs are added, they are seeded in Outer Ring. This happens with every addition of an ORE blueprint.

Either go out there and buy one, get someone to get you one, or buy the resell copies on the market in Empire.

It is actually really easy to get them.

Example: Black Ops undock, wait for session timer, and while immune covert-cyno jump to a less camped system. All you need risk is a Covert Ops.

Yeah, doing it any other way than what Tau mentioned is pretty foolish.

I had my alt pick up one in a Nano'd Stilletto.

It wasn't hard.

This would be true, it might have even been expected - except for two things:

1. The Orca (an Ore Industrial) BPO is available in the Citadel

2. CCP clearly stated in the Bowhead thread that it would be available in the same stations the Orca BPO is/was - and thus it was, I understand, on SISI

And then, with the patch, they did something different......

One might always think - conspiracy...... I supposeRoll

For what it is worth...

I have a no-skill alt camped in an ORE station as a scout and bookmark-maker.

This no-skill alt travelled there in a rookie ship, and managed to avoid all drag / stop bubbles. Thankfully no bubbles directly on gates were encountered (they tend to be destroyed, as they are very annoying).

Now I wouldn't want to make the return trip in a rookie ship with expensive cargo, but rather I wanted to point out that getting there isn't difficult outside of "hunting season".

Travelling during hunting season imposes additional risks, like being alpha'd or bumped on the undock, or travelling via camped stargates, which the Black Ops negates.

They call it plausible deniability.
It does raise an eyebrow how a fairly important information gets mishandled, rather conveniently.

I used to routinely travel through bubbled camps in an interceptor but haven't done it in a while, so I'd be cautious about warp scramblers. If I were determined to get a BPO out, I'd create bookmarks over all the gates on the way in, plan my in/out at the station carefully, and most importantly be patient about it. It works in my favour that my evening time brackets DT. Perhaps a step above the skill level of the industrialist, but I got my start as a pvper in the first place from the adrenaline rush of getting shot at in low-sec.

The Covetor, Retriever, Procuror and Rorqual are Outer Ring only - The Orca is anomalous because it is not an ORE ship but a joint venture between ORE and Deep Core Mining... It is therefore available from Deep Core Mining sources in addition to ORE.

Gents,

You are indeed correct in the facts you re-state - but so was I (if you care to re-read).

There is, however, no need for you to make excuses for CCPs failure.

I can't believe how many of these sold already. When I looked yesterday over 200 had been sold in the forge alone. These will eventually be another BPO that one can get 10-20 originals for market price. Also I would imagine the price will come down quickly on the hull as so many are building them right out of the gate.

I don't recall CCP saying it was seeded in HS...i recall a player stating they had seen it on SiSi as seeded in a Deep Core seed station. CCP Rise however decided to post on Twitter apologizing for the switch after it was discovered on TQ after the patch.

Though using agility maxed ceptors, it was a laughably easy task to get in and out with the goods. Of course you have to avoid the normal camp times.

Only if they had the Capital Maint Bay's built before hand....hehehe, that 3x mark-up did amazing things for my wallet...Bear...heck some ppl paid 1.5b for just the maint bays...let alone the rest of the components...Twisted

By my maths there have only been 17(ish) ships worth of Maint-bays bought in The Forge since tuesday morning, and only 8 worth in the two weeks prior.

Even if every person who bought a BPO was going to build a bowhead, we'd only have 500 or so hitting the market in about two weeks, another 500 after that, etc.

How many incursion runners do you think are there who are waiting for theirs? There's still bank to be made.
