Black Screen on log-in

I have a completely black screen on log-in. No EVE banner and nothing clickable. When I try and use the backdoor log in I get the following message

"The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging"

I have restarted the client 3 or 4 times and have no idea as to what the problem is.
