WHY .. did you change the icons in station?

I love you guys at ccp .. really..and while I Already love a lot about Rhea, I'm not getting this change!
I would love to say we, but I love and am quite used to the icons we had. Why change them to these, seemingly less impressive buttons?

was this in discussion prior to patch? o included in patch notes? ( if so my bad, I simply don't recall seeing it)

I think the ships look amazing ( i play 99% amarr ) but the new interface in stations.... just Why?
