I think I'm leaning more towards the pvp/combat side of 0.0 after listening to others, I'll do some research and figure out what I want my alt to do for me in 0.0 space, worst case I already have mining/missions to fall back if I need to.

Not a new pilot, I've got 56 mill skill points on my main and 42 mill on my alt and this is a long term goal not a short term one, I could likely easily rat in 0.0

I've also got another alt with 32 mill (max Orca boosting pilot) not sure which account I wanted to transfer him to yet my alt or main still have 2 weeks to decide on that.)

Train the Orca alt into the Rorqual if you really want to fly a Rorqual. When I first started, I fell in love with Ore ships, esp the Rorqual. Trained my main exclusively for it. That held me back big time. But having 3 Rorqual Pilots now (only use 1 atm though) I can move my own Mining Operation wherever I need and the Rorqual makes for a good poor mans JF (though limited by range and fatigue now ofc)

In Null, Skiffs if you are alone mining. Hulks if you are in Fleet Op. You can use Hulks effectively if you are attentative, but you then need a Hauler, warping in and out in Hulks is a pita. You could go with Mackinaws I guess, but the buff to Skiffs makes them the best imo.

Honestly though, train for a Dominix as a starting ratting ship and run anoms, it works well in any space. Train into better ships for running escalations. And in the meantime train for some PvP. If not for large scale fleet fights at least for some fun roams or something. The mining will be useful as most corps/alliances do run Ops to help towards producing, so you will get to mine some. But anoms will bring in the ISK faster.

Just go for it. See what happens. If you really need a plan, make it then.

I generally suggest training in skills that increase your ability to shoot back and absorb damage. You're going to null sec, the only protection is what you take with you.

Those same skills can be used to rat and do missions.

Alternatively, depending on whether you join a big group or find a decent NPC nullsec population pocket, you can seed those stations with modules and make a decent turnaround.

Be sure you have Bullsh*tting ranked to at least IV. It seems to be a must.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.
