I spent a few months doing station trading and made about 8bil. I have been living off of that for a long time now, and I barely ever PVE anymore (basically only if I only have time to do a mission).

I am a little worried about what I will do when I do run out of isk, as I really don't want to do station trading again. However, at the rate I lose isk, I imagine it will take a couple years at least :-D

ISK in your wallet is like the bullets you've already used. Just not much good. If you are not using it, it's being wasted.

Or so I tell myself as I look into the black hole of my liquid ISK balance.

I strongly suspect that the 'really rich' characters in EVE are ones who can do proper maths and know that what is referred to as 'trillions' is in fact 'billions'.Big smile

Forget the bean-counter shorthand - if you know what a 'real billion' (1x 10^12) is, then you most probably understand how to make that money in the first place.

PS That 'Top 10' listing - is that just isk in wallets? Or is it counting 'stuff' too?

The British billion hasn't been used in commerce anywhere in the world for decades.

Yes, the term originally came from 'mono-illion' = 1 group of 6 zeroes, 'bi-illion' = 2 groups of six zeroes, 'tri-illion' = three groups of six zeroes. But language changes over time - when is the last time you referred to someone as Thou, or used the word Forsooth?


Noone even uses the British billion even in countries where the currency value is low enough that having 10^12 of it is plausible, such as Japan (a trillion yen is about USD 9 billion).

That is individual character wealth too, not player wealth.

I know that X ATM092 has a half trillion or more invested in characters being bred for the Character Bazaar.

More importantly why the F would you want that much liquid isk. Personally on my main 25bil liquid is the limit then I invest in something to make money. Isk in your wallet loses value every day.

When I started the game in 05' I thought that a million isk was crazy insane! When I made my first 100 mil I was in heaven! I never thought I would ever see 1 bil. Now that I'm at 100 bil it seems like 1tril is still just a pipe dream. Play, have fun, make friends, and enjoy yourself. Isk is just a byproduct of enjoying your game to the best of your ability.

I just say what 95% of pilots think. At least I'm honest about it. I happen to have a very good reputation when it comes to handling money which just so happens to be what I do for a living. No you're not, you're making **** up because you're not a mindreader. Go find some quantitative data, with some qualitative surveying to support the data, and support your assertion with some evidence. Especially if you're going to be so specific as to provide a percentage.
