Disable all chat channels, evemail, market and other information services if you're Docked
or Cloaked [Edit: For longer than 30 minutes without doing something more useful or something like that, cloaks work okay it's idling that's rotting the game]

I'm sure it's been suggested before but anyway... stop people who don't actually play FiS being a distraction for those that do

Not really meant as a solution, just a talking point. Find a way to make people play the game, because not enough are right now

I agree to a point. That is to say, it defeats the purpose of being clandestine when your name pops up in local while cloaked.

I wouldn't mind losing access to local while cloaked if it meant local lost access to me Twisted.

After all, it's only fair.

The best thing to happen to EVE would be a dislike button on the forums.

95% of the players are loving EVE, the other 5%? On the forums.

Yeah, because 0.01 isking while spamming d-scan is the ultimate rush. Death can come in the form of a hunk of metal or a missed decimal point.

If i want to idle in EVE whilst watching Scandinavian midget pron, thats none of your business, and i shouldnt be punished for doing so......besides, a lot of the time idling in EVE is like hiding in the bushes outside your sexy neighbors bedroom window....there may appear to be not much going on, but your definitely poised for action and ready to strike.

Clearly the best thing to happen to Eve would be for someone to create another stealth nerf-afk-cloaking thread.

Thank you OP, you've saved us all.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Good thing you said this or you might have come off as stupid.

Anyway, these threads just make me want a cloaky alt again.

Also, a sad, pathetic, crying clown is fitting for this, good call OP.

Just would like point out that physics dictates that if you are invisible, then you are also blind. Fun fact.

Never said to the contrary. In fact my post actually says the same thing... If they followed the laws of physics then no one would like cloaks because they wouldnt know what the hell was going, among other things.

Because there's a point in covert ops if your scouts aren't able to report their observations.

If you were a real EVE nerd you'd know that external camera drones are how capsuleers "see", and that as a capsuleer you're wired into your ship and don't really need to "see" anything to receive the input you do.

Then again, a cloaking field could be bending light around your ship, leaving you inside that field and completely able to see the interior of your cockpit and monitors.

I think this is worth thinking more on.

Use probes for the lack of seeing local and if you are a serious player you are on a third party coms system, so chatting is not a problem.

On the other hand, most of the fun of being cloaked is that you do show up in local.

Tough call as to which way to go on this one. Denial of security for fun or serious business?

That doesnt change the laws of physics. If the camera drones can see you, physics dictates you can see the camera drones. I am also full aware of the capsling system. I was not picking a side in this argument, merely pointing out an interesting fact/flaw in EvE.
