Hello.

As some of you might already know, i'm from Norway, or more specific, i'm from the city 'Tromsø' in Norway. So let's talk about the city and what we can experience here.

Everybody knows that the second you steps into Norway, you are surrounded with amazing natures all around you. That's one of the reasons why Norway is being called 'Worlds most beautiful country in the world'. Now, this topic isn't going to be about that, but about the thing you can experience by looking up into the sky.

Not only do we see amazing things normally from the nature here, but we also see wonderfull things by looking up into the skies to. This is called aurora, or northern lights. Alot of peoples around the world have never seen this fantastic experience in real life. I can tell you that you are missing something big in your life if you aren't able to experience this in real life.

So, there is a reason why the city 'Tromsø', or the area around the city are one of the most popular places in the world when it comes to visitors that want to experience the northern lights. When the northern lights are strong and completely visible, then you can just look up into the skies and experience something that makes you get goosebumps all over you body. It's like being on another planet / different world.

So let me introduce you the most amazing video of the northern lights i have seen so far from the area around Tromsø. Remember that this video doesn't contains ANY timelapses. It only contains real footages (with some HDR added) that are video recorded in real time with no speed-ups. This video shows the real deal when it comes to seeing northern lights or auroras.

It's actually filmed in the same way as you would watch at the northern lights realisticly, so that makes this video a bit special over other videos that are just framelapses where the camera just sits on one spots while filming the northern lights.

Enjoy this wonderful and stunning video: http://vimeo.com/113094940

I'm from germany, a little town near the airport, we can experience the most beautiful traffic jams (cars in every color and design) every day at 9:00 AM and sometimes the airplanes deviate a little from their flight path so we might "experience" the incredible sound their engines make, it's quite awesome, sometimes. If you love airplanes.

Luckily tho, the cold war is over, so our jetfighters are no longer allowed to practice their low altitude super sonic maneuvers above our town. Nobodies windows have been shattered by super sonic booms for at least two decades. YAY! \o/

We've got a nice little wood right in the center of our town it's really beautiful, wish I had some photos to share since it's really idyllic and won't be there for much longer, the mayor decided that we desperatley need some more houses right were that wood is... Ugh

Uh... if you ever thought of moving to one of those little towns on munichs outskirts near the airport, please don't. I hear the southern part of munich is much nicer, and you can even see the mountains from there. xD

EDIT: Oh by the way, it's a really awesome video, thanks for sharing that, I wanted to see something like that for years. Smile

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.

takk.

thank you. i'm from the midlands, england, we never see anything of the sort here.

In a few moments you will have an experience that will seem completely real. It will be the result of your subconscious fears transformed to your conscious awareness.

we have northern lights where i live as well. not usually so strong. more often a subdued twisting haze of colors. displays like the ones in this video are not very common but they do happen. once, i can remember watching the sky ripple with curtains of the richest blues and silvery whites. i've not seen them that color again since. usually that haunting green showcased in the video

I'm from the more southern regions of the northern hemisphere, where day and night have about the same amount of time year-round. I always wonder what it would be like to live in places closer to the Poles, with more extreme switches between amounts of daylight and dark time, and having northern light magnetism in your skies.

Pretty amazing, the zones of climates human primates have gone into, eh? We can live about anywhere, but the daily environmental life experiences are so different. Pacific Ocean waves or Aurora Borealis in your backyard, either way seems it's all about the same....

Incase someone is wondering. At this time of the year here, you can actually see the auroras / northern lights almost every day now as long as there is very little to no clouds to be seen.

Some days the auroras are pretty weak and you have to be on a completely dark environment / place to be able to see it and some days you can see it pretty strongly in the sky without the need of being in a dark environment / place.

I actually miss living in Northern places.

I have spent quite some time in the dreary equator, where all we have is rain season and heat season.

I was born high in the Mountains, Sea level city living for me has always been ... meh

This video made me rekindle my itch for traveling, I have to see those lights with my own eyes before I die!

Awesome vid! +1 Big smile

This picture was taken today. Here you can see the moon + the northern light with some HDR effect added.

Now, this picture wasn't taken here in Tromsø though. It was taken a little more north of the city, but the picture is still nice :-)

Oh, even though this video is not just about auroras, i'm still gonna show you a video that both shows the amazing nature that is here in norway and does have some timelapse shots of the auroras here in northern Norway.

The song in the video is also Norwegian, so they sings in Norwegian.
