Eve Laucher never fully loads

When I launch Eve it comes on but never fully loads so i can put in the password. i don't know enough to know any another way to launch. help please

I have started having the same problem today on Macintosh Yosemite (10.10.1). If I right-click on the app in the /Applications folder and select open, it works - if I use the open command from terminal it fails. Using the "EVE Clonemaker" app - the clones work (both by double clicking them in the /Applications folder and by using open) and run the game - but I'm sure I am going to need to patch soon.

A way around the launcher is to go to the EVE app itself.
Right-click on it.
Show package contents
go to: contents -> Resources -> double click EVE Online
