slowly replacing drug pills with SHIP CREW (in cargohold)

Currently we can take booster pills (drugs) to boost certain ship functions such as speed/repair/tracking etc.

im suggesting that we begin a process of replacing the old way of receiving boost. a "ship crew" you can keep in your ships cargo during pvp (you can activate the crew when the fight starts).

few benefits of having a crew instead of pills:
- some of the crew can drop when you get killed (the looter will find this convinient)
- you can find crew members more often in PvE (which you can later use for your own pvp)
- in PvE when you fight a more rare spawn you can get access to more valuable crew
- a crew can grow in "experience" the more often they have been in a fight the more they grow in value (as well as greater boost or less drawbacks)
- they dont have to expire after you have used a crew for a pvp fight. You can use the same crew several times

So, you would be okay with nerfing every single ship in the game to avoid the power creep that comes with adding a new form of boost?

Also, no to ships crew gaining experience. That is not a healthy mechanic within Eve.

CCP should add more NPC 0.0 space to open it up and liven things up: the Stepping Stones project.

Does that mean that instead of running a drug POS I would run lots of little modules breeding people and education faculties for peoples crews?

I'm so down for this.

You could have multiple pleasure hubs, which would provide a constant supply of item:infant assuming you had a POS module:Hospital active. In addition, when used in highsec, pleasure hubs would provide a slow but steady isk stream for the CORP that owned the POS, from fee's by npc tourists.

These in turn would be processed through a "Basic education" module then an "Advanced training modules" to turn them into usable ship crews.

Special modules could then spec crews towards certain bonuses, like speed, or tracking, or w/e.

JK.

Your idea is terrible. Don't ruin the entire booster economy for this. I neither need nor want ship crews, but I enjoy making combat boosters and selling them. Being a space pimp sounds attractive though.

No. Crew. In. My. Ships. Unless I can flood the entire ship with toxic gas and kill everyone and every living soul on every station I dock.

Just for jigs and giggles: How do I create crewmen from gas? And if not from gas, what is the point of gas without booster pills? And how are crews more efficient than a boosted capsuleer?

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

great, so what do we do with all the science and biology we trained for drug and booster manufacturing? I was kind of hoping this would be expanded and there would be a smuggling sub-career.

The crew could be considered illegal aliens and the custom officials would deport them back to whatever space they belong to. After fining you for aiding and embedding them first though.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

you understand that as a capsule pilot the only crew you have is there to do regular maintenance on your ship.

as a capsule pilot your CNS is plugged into the ship and it becomes your body imagine having a bunch of little people inside you trying to move your arms and legs for you.

EDIT: all your "benefits" may be benefits to the individual but are bad for the game

TheExtruder is at it again, extruding ideas from the lower end of his digestive tract and depositing them on the forum.

No. Incidentally, ship crew is an idea that keeps coming up and as such is highly redundant.
