o7.

Trying to figure out my maximum velocity with MWD active. So far I have:

Ship: Condor
Base Velocity: 400

Attribute Modifier #1: Navigation (5)
↑ Modifier Percentage: 25%
Adjusted Base Velocity: 500

Attribute Modifier #2: Overdrive Injector System II
↑ Modifier Percentage: 12.5%
↑ Stacking Effectiveness: 100%
Adjusted Base Velocity: 562.5

Attribute Modifier #3: Nanofiber Internal Structure II
↑ Modifier Percentage: 9.4%
↑ Stacking Effectiveness: 86.9%
Adjusted Modifier Percentage: 8.1686%
Adjusted Base Velocity: 608.448375

Attribute Modifier #4: Small Auxiliary Thrusters I
↑ Modifier Percentage: 7.25%
↑ Stacking Effectiveness: 57.1%
Adjusted Modifier Percentage: 4.13975%
Adjusted Base Velocity: 633.636616604062

Attribute Modifier #5: Small Polycarbon Engine Housing I
↑ Modifier Percentage: 5.5%
↑ Stacking Effectiveness: 28.3%
Adjusted Modifier Percentage: 1.5565%
Adjusted Base Velocity: 643.499170541505

SHIP TOOLTIP BASE VELOCITY: 643.50

MWD INFO

Limited 1MN Microwarpdrive I:
↑ Modifier Percentage: 500%
Acceleration Control (4)
↑ Modifier Percentage (To MWD): 20%
Adjusted MWD Percentage Bonus: 600%

Ship Thrust: 1,500,000
Ship Mass: 1,100,000
MWD Mass: 500,000

Formula for Maximum Velocity Calculation: =(Adjusted Base Velocity)*(1+((Ship thrust)/(Ship Mass + MWD Mass)*(Adjusted MWD Percentage Bonus))

LESS WORDY

Maximum Velocity = 643.499170541505*(1+((1,500,000/1,600,000)*6))
This Equals: 4263.18200483747
SHIP TOOLTIP STATES: 4263.09

Thanks for the help!Big smile

You sound like my GF. When we are in the supermarket she always say: I don't know what I have to pay, the cashier is telling me.

Every time I am speechless.

That's 0.002% error. Big smile

Probably a rounding thing.

EFT or simply fit the ship and see for yourself.

I think you are seriously overthinking this whole thing.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Example MWD calculation:

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=4716018#post4716018

The MWD is the only complex calculation. Module & rig effects are subject to stacking penalty, but that is well documented: Aenigma's Stacking Penalty Guide (skip to chapter 3). Example of application on resists.

Ben, did you ever see the movie "Pi"?

If you're off by .09200483747 and you just can't get over it...if it bugs you that badly...
I have the numbers for some really good psychiatrists. Let us know when something happens.

Oh yeah, and Pi was great. Not to be confused with Life of Pi. This guy had no life.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Ironically 09200483747 is the number of a psychiatrist.

It's a rounding error from the stacking penalties. Find the formula and use more precise values if it bugs you

Rounding + computer math. I sincerely doubt CCP went through the trouble of ensuring accuracy to a scientific degree. Computers *always* have to round off at some point, or floating point numbers would take up all of your RAM.

Your overthinking the problem. The answer is so simple my 7 year old figured it out in like 4 seconds.

Equip the ship, undock and punch it and see how fast you can get your ship to fly.

Umm, your formula for maximum velocity calculation is malformed...

On topic: Rounding errors. A rational number that can be represented by a finite amount of digits in decimal might have a periodic representation in binary. Example: 0.2 in decimal is 0.00110011001100110011... in binary.

Well.. an empty post looks silly, so let me fill it with a joke.. while we are talking about math.

Why are american mathematicians unable to distunguish between x-mas and halloween?

Your 7yo = future PVP master. He/she has just figured out half of this game already, and the other half is easy.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

Theoretically you can never reach the maximum in game by accelerating up to it. You would just get extremely close.

To fly at the MWD max speed you would need to somehow be already going faster than MWD max and decelerate down to it.
