..its basically a secondary function for the "look at" button..
..instead of the entire camera moving to the enemy ship where you are "looking at him from his own perspective" ..
..this new camera is basically where you look at the "enemy ship" from the perspective of the turrets mounted on your ship (not first person perspective)..
..you will even be able to quickly use the already existing zoom button to more easily zoom in on that one target you clicked on..
..its basically tracking the enemy ship you want to look at from the perspective of the guns..
..as the enemy ship moves, you would automatically track his movement with different guns depending on what side of your ship he is..

Please consider:

We are (Cy-) borgs with a neural interface that basically shows us the Matrix- eerrm EVE from the outside of the goo we currently swim in.

At a distance you - target <= 150km, you can use "look at".

Eve Minions is recruiting.

This is the law of ship progression!

doesnt necessarily mean you have to be shooting at somebody for the camera angle to function, you can simply warp somewhere and click "look at" on somebody and you will be looking at his ship from the perspective of your guns, and if that ship moves that movement will be tracked by different turret hardpoints depending on what side of the ship he is in (the turret themselves dont have to turn, just the camera will turn and be centered on the object

in other words you never really leave your own third person perspective, you get a visual on your enemies from that same third person camera but from a different angle where you are zoomed in on your own ship a lot, and your ship is not in the way blocking the camera view when you are tracking the enemy movement as he orbits you for example

they are just camera drones....

as for the OP i feel this is just for the "cool" factor with no real benefit so i'm gunna go with a -1 as there are better things for the devs to do with their time

I pvp a lot lately and situational awareness is always a struggle, it would be very practical to have proper visual on enemy ship that is not at the expense of losing situational awareness. this is the nr1 reason people stay zoomed out 90% of the time, they dont want the visual eye candy be at the expense of valuable information such as 'when is the enemy is going to charge at me' or 'is he moving away from me or is he moving toward me at an angle'
