Hey Sam,

How about a new category for 2015?

"Eve Nerds with No Life" = 17,500 - 40,000 words :P

If you'd had this one this year I'd be sorted, but struggling currently with an entry with 5000 words. Go figure Shocked

Ha! That would be great, actually. The only problem is the judging probably wouldn't be done until this time next year.

Where can we read the longer piece mate?

Glad to see this contest continue on again this year. One thing EvE have is a very committed and involved community, this is another good way for us to be involved in the fun that surrounds the game we all love (or love to hate).

I missed the second year but I've got something for you this year, Sam. Look forward to it!

Isn't it ironic?

Excellent, another vet writer checking in! Looks like we have a Clash of the (easy-going writer) Titans brewing up. And at the same time, entries from out in the field, from heretofore not known writing forces.... Might be good to polish up your pieces.

(Drackarn, I'll be linking the novella and that nice cover art on the contest webpage. You can revoke the permission you didn't give me for that, if you want.)

lol, no problem.

My three are queued up to publish on my blog whilst I'm on holiday for the next two weeks...

"The Wreck" - 8000 Suns - 21st
"Angels and Sinners" - Erm.... probably 'Day in the Life' although it may be humour, need to decide - 23rd
"Artificial Stupidity" - Humour - 28th

Apparently there is Wifi on the island so will steal the wife's tablet and submit them to the main site at the end of the month!

Four new stories in and linked on the Contest Entries page.

And-- contest judge Mike Azariah has announced that he'll again being giving out ships for any great stories that don't get a top prize. In other words, all stories are insured in case of philistinism or other wrong-headedness on the part of the judges. Smile Thanks Mike!

Any obvious reason the entry page won't load on an Android tablet running Chrome? All I get is a page of white. Great as a torch, not so great when trying to submit an entry :(

Hmm... I have no idea. It works with Chrome for Windows. I'll see if I can get a tech-capable friend's advice.

Edit: You can just EVEmail the story's link and info and I'll get it on the Contest Entries page.

1 bil ISK donation in from a new sponsor: Clueless Space Nerds podcast. Thank you generous patrons of the arts!

The prize pool is now 39 bil ISK. I have to redo (raise) the prize amounts in the various categories.

Still five days to write! That's about 30 times more hours than it took Samuel Taylor Coleridge to write "Kubla Khan."

Tried three devices. All say nope! Then again it could be the internet here. A lot is blocked I'd guess. Eve Mail sent. Thanks.

Man, really hoping there's a lot more stories stacked up waiting to be delivered here in the next few days! Otherwise, we're going to have to start advertising at Fanfest to bolster numbers Blink

Got another story submitted for this year (missed last year's somehow) and this one is very personal to me for a variety of reasons. I've been debating this story topic for just under two years now when I started thinking about it for the Pod and Planet Contest for 2012. The only thing that held me back was my limited knowledge of the lore but I decided to take a chance and go for it anyway.

Here it is: Perhaps Reborn

So exciting! Good luck to everyone!

as long as sentient beings exist,

until then, may I too remain

and dispel the miseries of the world."

Yeah, we had kind of a hard time getting the word out to people this year. But the stories are coming in at an accelerating rate as we got close to closing time. You guys are true writers-- the best inspiration seems to be a deadline flying toward you. Smile

Great having both returning writers and new people in this one, by the way. Check out the Reading Bank for some really excellent works from previous years. Really surprisingly excellent, in my opinion.

Its possible some are saving their entry to the last minute. Big prizes mean some might be taking thier serious internet spaceship fiction seriously Big smile

If you've ever wanted to try writing EVE Fiction and haven't written something for this contest, you are officially doing it wrong.

Only one entry from me this year, sadly. But here's mine!
