I tried a bunch of wormhole tracking systems and I got to say that tripwire is my favorite one so far

The other one I liked is eveeye but it has many problems with views disappearing, instability, popups not working at times and slowness.

Tripwire instead is simple, it racks the holes and has a nice interface for signatures, pretty intuitive and easy.

One feature I miss is IGB synchronization with an outside browser, I hope this feature can come eventually, unless itìs already in but I can't figure how to activate it.

Anyway, good job guys, I'm really loving this tool although I wish there was some sort of minimap of systems around me in k-space and some way to know what class a wormhole type leads to before jumping (again, I could have missed that piece of info)

Thanks! Credit goes to all the great user feedback, indispensable.

It is available already, simply open an IGB and OOG and log into the same Tripwire account.

Chain map enhancements and k-space are on the road map, they are complex systems.
Once you add a wormhole (leaving the Leads To empty) you can hover over the type in the Signatures list to get info on where it should lead to (or what the other side's type is if you have that entered down the road with a K162).

Any chance of adding a feature to tag a K162 as a frigate sized hole without jumping through?

Right now I just put a comment in the notes section for alliance mates if I can't or don't wish to jump through to the other side for some reason. Except that those can't be seen unless the WH locus is selected and the person pays attention to the notes.

Thanks, we all love Tripwire!

In a perfect world there would be an easy way to do this... however there is a clever way:

1.) Add the wormhole (K162) and set the Leads To system to something fake like Jita.
2.) Go to the fake side (like Jita) and edit that side of the wormhole type to any of the frigate wh types.
3.) From either side, clear out the fake Leads To system (Jita).

Viola - a K162 frig hole without a Leads To system.

Brilliant! I should have thought of that myself. Thanks.

New Tripwire user here!
It's really convenient and the UI is sexy as hell!

Suggestion for feature:

Interest list of wormhole J-signatures

  • Add J-sigs to a list
  • Get notification if you enter this system / add this system to your map

Hi Ellie,

Thanks :)

That is actually an old request that got a bit buried by high priority requests, I'll bump it up on my list a few places.

Daimian,

As others have said, kudos on a great tool. I had a few questions/comments after having used it for a very long time.

1. I believe you had mentioned changing the default time on sigs like gas sites etc to longer back when CCP changed it so that Sig ID's persist through downtime. This however hasn't seemed to be the case. Is there a place that can be configured as right now they have to be manually changed every time to longer than 24 hours, which is doable but extra work.

2. Is there a way to add some sort of functionality to be able to flag a WH as inactive? As an example, since I tend to work from home I often get in and scan before starting my day. I may scan down our static (which has a 16 hr lifespan) but I specifically don't warp to it if I am pretty sure it is fresh. The reason being that the bulk of my corpmates will get on after work and the timing is such that if I were to do so the static would be near EOL right when they want to play.

However, tripwire starts the clock as soon as I add it, so it shows EOL even though it is inactive. Manually changing the status back to stable doesn't seem to work very well, as it tends to flip right back to critical after I save. The only way around is to just delete it and re-create it, which again works but is suboptimal.

Also, any plans for the pretty but useless graph area? Ever since CCP removed WH statistics it is largely useless.

Thanks again!

About to release a hot patch so pasted sites default to 72 hours. Someday I'll add an option to change what they default to. Wormholes still default to 24 hours.

Give me a few days to think about "inactive" wormholes.... an interesting issue.

Well CCP FoxFour said he wanted to publish all killmails for each system for killboards. Once he finally adds that CREST end-point I plan to add back Ship Kills and Pod Kills in wormholes by using that end-point.

Thanks for the feedback!

Tripwire hot patch released....

Fixed Mac client support for mass pasting signatures. Thanks to Niya Qun Liro for spending hours helping me debug the issue!

Pasted sites now default to 72 hour instead of 24.

Damian,

Maybe a better implementation could be as follows. It would probably make more logical sense and not involve any new "buttons"

So as of now, say I have a WH sig in tripwire. The timer says it has been there 6 hours and so its life is "stable" I warp to the Wh and find that in fact it is EOL. So in tripwire i change the WH from "stable" to "critical" and save. At this point the WH shows critical and the time changes to the red 4 hour countdown. IE works as intended.

The problem is that the reverse does not seem to work. If I have a WH in tripwire which has been around say 20 hours, then tripwire has automatically changed it to Critical and started the 4 hour countdown. If I warp to that WH and find that in fact it isn't EOL, I go into tripwire and set the status from critical back to stable and save. The problem is this does not save, or it almost immediately reverts back to critical again. If this functionality worked then there would be no reason to need an "inactive" status. Maybe if setting back to stable reset the timer as well? This would be the same as deleting and recreating the sig, without having to delete, create, change to wh, fill out WH type and connects to etc.

I will make that change to Tripwire by tonight. Setting a wormhole back to Stable should reset the timer - I wasn't aware it isn't.

That was from a fanfest session, but later they said that the idea was scraped because there are users/corps that don't want their kills public. (possible wormholers)

Last post from foxfour about that topic was 2 days ago on reddit: http://www.reddit.com/r/Eve/comments/2n3ipw/shouldnt_ccp_just_buy_andor_inhouse_the_killboards/cm9zxc9

Thanks for posting the info, it can be hard for me to keep up to speed on EVE news sometimes.

I will start thinking about what to do with the activity graph for wormholes again. Likely one of these two will happen:
1.) Simply hide the graph for w-space
2.) Replace it with a different graph...

Ideas/suggestions are welcome on the subject :)

Pretty cool, how about a button on the signatures list that adds a new note with the signature details as a header?

Example of what I mean:
You press the button on any inserted signature and a new not pops up
The new note has a header containing the signature data (maybe it autoupdates if the signature info is changed?)

HGD - Wormhole - Stable - whatever else fits here
    Can add detailed description here

LRT - Sansha exploration place
Already looted a bunch of cans, the others are empty

PQC - Wormhole - Z124
    This one leads back home

AHD - Wormhole - ????
   DANGER CAMPED

Just an idea I just had, I find the current signature info a bit limited since I can't add any important details to the description right now.

Also maybe an emoji picker for silly faces or just symbols (spamming alert signs in comments and santa heads!!!)

Not a bad idea Zetsubou, let me first get the new notes section released and make sure the base code is solid.
