Where do you see EvE 10 years from now?

In ten years sc will be long gone, but eve will still be here, with the same people playing it. With any luck.

Where will Eve be in 10 years...


  • T3 Titans. Can doomsday entire regions. Requires 300 plex in cargo hold to fire.

  • Russia invaded Iceland, takes over CCP HQ and gives Stain Wagon 900 trillion isk (current price of a plex). Stain Wagon loses it to Jita isk doubler. Russia returns Iceland and disavowes Stain Wagon, Stain Wagon blames isk loss on its USTZ players, USTZ blames it on Obamacare.

  • CCP goes public. Main stock holder, isboxer.

  • CCP nerfs ishtars by increasing its sig radius by 2 (not 2 percent, TWO). Complains that they want to go slow and points to the last time they rushed and nerfed the Ishtar 10 years ago.

  • The Mittani becomes CCP developer, gets put on Project Legion. Project Legion shutdown due to patch which included a casino and a renters agreement.

  • Australia decides to create Eve tax for playing Eve. Every Aussie corporation dissolves.

  • CCP releases skill queue app for iPhone. Apple rejects it from App Store, says they can't support something that should have been made 10 years ago.

  • Brave Newbies Become a religion, called Cult of the Brave Noob. Catch Region renamed Jesus-land.

  • Pandemic Legion Merged with Black Legion to create The Legion of Losers. Currently representing CSM 19... Every member of CSM 19.

  • CCP Seagull made president of Iceland.

  • Gevlon Goblin CEO of CCP.

Having played eve on and off for 12 years, i have seen some very good changes and some very very bad changes, there also seems to be a need on ccp side to change the whole aspect/nostalgia part of it.
So judging where eve was then and where it is now, can be a highly debate-able subject, depending on perspective ofc. So where it will be 10 years from now judging by its current vision is going to be a bleak one, perhaps doomsday is closer than we think....
I have liked most of the changes but i think the nerfing of capitals was a bit OTT and over thought too much because they are a complete waste of skills, time and isk.

First, Eve will still be around.

Beyond that, I believe it will still be a niche game but it will likely have more actual players than it does now. Possibly less subscribers, though, a a PLEX is going to cost a trillion ISk and so there will be less Alts Online.

It will be the aged patriarch of a family of games such as Legion, Valkrie, or possibly their successors, and possibly others. There will be some degree of integration of Eve with these games. You will be able to open the captains quarters. Eve will have an avatar play component. You will be able to undock your VR fighter from a carrier.

Eve will be very beautiful, and very technologically sophisticated. It will be modularly programmed and easy to update. However, the fundamentals of gameplay will be expanded but probably not changed much. There may be a joystick play mode, but overall it will be the same 3rd person mouse-based in-scale universe.

There will be more regions and galaxies.

The economy will not change much but still be a unique draw to the game.

Despite many wonderful elements, Eve will still have a learning curve, still be challenged to be user friendly (though vets will have billions of little niceties and options in the UI), and will still attract a unique player type, from the guy who enjoys passively playing a game (shooting rocks) while watching TV to a guy who wants to release his inner psychopath.

It'll be the same game, but will overall be really really cool. It won't be cool enough or advance rapidly enough or change its nature enough to keep a player engaged for a full 20 years. But it will be cool enough and change rapidly enough for players to play for a couple years, take a year off, and come back when something new comes back, and it will keep players playing Eve a while, then valkyrie for a while, then some other Eve related game for a while, and back to Eve.

Eve will do well over the next decade. There may be low points a head, with a player exodus here, and account exodus there, and Eve will have to compete with and adapt to competition, but it will be around and get cooler.

    I think i have my kids have kids of there own. And i`m 10 years older and i dont think i play games or just log in some time to time to set my skill learning. But again i dont know how eve evolve.
