Where is the arms race and technology advances in eve disappeared to?

I read the changes CCP is implementing to balance large fleet warfare.
Some minor changes in the database to reconfigure ships; nerf here, boost there.

IS THAT ALL CCP HAS? COME ON GUYS! Almost 10 years of warfare on a galactic scale, and you can't come up with some interesting new weapons for us to wrap our brains around and try to deploy new tactics with? New weapons to use in different situations is far more enjoyable, then a new platform to put the same old weapons on.

Fighters and Fighter Bombers OP? Give us a High Slot module that would EMP them into stasis so we could kill them.
Titans and supers hitting every ship under the sun? Give us High slot ECM Jammers that will jam them.
Drone swarms a problem? Give us a deployable battery that can be used to rapidly shoot down drones, forcing the capital to lock and take down the platform out or lose their drone swarm.
Bring back mines in some form or fashion that seek out drones, latch on, and hack them.
How about drones that hack into and control other drones!
Why can't we disable ships and capture them after all these years?

There are a thousand weapon ideas from players if you just ask us. You keep tweaking the same old junk to fight with, and there is nothing new. I appreciate the new T3 Battlecruisers that look really nice - but use the same old garbage weapons and tactics.

Your goal should be to inject new technology into the game to coincide with the arms race and constant warfare we do, as would occurr in any long running war.

I took a year off from playing eve because it was boring. Guess what, not much has changed, same old weapons and tactics.

CCP can do better!

New weapons and items would be fun if they were introduced in a balanced way. What you're suggesting is to basically give everybody counters to supercaps. If that was the case there wouldn't be much of a change in strategy to the game, people would just be bringing different modded ships to cap fights. In the end it would make supercaps useless against any well-fit fleet.

If it means more killing of SC's, then I approve.

I have to disagree with you here, I want CCP to balance what we have and fix the 8 years of neglect on some systems. THEN

I'll accept new weapons, did you see the mini-battleships? I call them sliders.

change to much at once and you break the game

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

yeah no
might as well ask for a bubble that instantly kills any ship it touches.

While it's true some new toys would be fun, I think the issue we face now is more on the balancing whats there, rather than pouring new tech into the game.

CCP's trouble, is that in their infinite wisdom, they are unable to effectively make changes with out over throwing the games balance, such that it is.

There's just no common sense with them, they constantly make changes to the game with out paying attention to what it'll do, and now we've got so many negative externalities in the game that adding more tech would be like pouring gas on a fire.

So anyhow. begging for a real change from CCP is kinda pointless. God knows I'd like more leadership/fleet command skills. It'll never happen though.

Personally I think CCP should give us tools that allow people to harass other's industrial facilities electronically. We have space ships that one would assume means there is vast amounts of computer technology available to a Pod pilot. It should be possible for pod pilots to use specially fitted ships to hack systems of POS's for instance and siphon away moon goo or maybe even steal BPC from invention or copy jobs.

The sandbox and warfare shouldn't be just about ships vs ships or spys infiltrating a corp/alliance. We should have some sort of ability to throw monkey wrenches into the mix from the out side that would keep large groups more on their toes.

You have got to be joking. This is the theory of crowd sourcing at it's finest. You have maybe 50 developers at CCP and you expect them to be able to predict every situation, that a new ship or module will be placed in? You expect them to be able to predict the evolution of tactics better than the 50,000 players in the game?

They will always fail to grasp some concept, some unintended interaction between ships or modules that will quickly be ferreted out by the multitude of players looking at any tiny advantage, real or perceived.

I would rather them go slow and make small correctable changes than have them make sweeping game breaking changes unintentionally.

I thought that is what the Incarna/Crucible debacle was all about, the players knowing the game, and what the game needs better than CCP.

That is why it is so exciting to see the CCP fleets, no they are getting their feet wet in the game.
