Clone Mechanics Tested in Thera.

Testing this out now because nobody bothered to try it.

Note: Had an anomaly with initial test. Had a direct sov null connection in thera, jumped it, jumped 1 system out, self destructed, wound up in highsec. Could not confirm if anomaly or that my initial medical clone did not setup correctly.

Test (all medical clones are based in Thera)


  1. Test one. Highsec. Same system where thera has a hole. Self destructed. Result. Spawn in Thera.

  2. Test two. Highsec, 1 jump out of thera (no thera hole in system). Self Destructed. Result. Spawned in Thera

  3. Test three. Lowsec. Same System where thera has a hole. Self Destructed. Result. Spawn in Thera

  4. Test four. Lowsec, 1 jump out of thera (no thera hole in system). Self Destructed. Result. Spawn in Thera

  5. Test five. NPC Nullsec (D-Q Serpentis). Same system where thera has a hole. Self destructed. Result. Spawn in Thera

  6. Test six. NPC Nullsec 1 jump out of thera (no thera hole in system). Self Destructed. Result. Spawn in Thera

  7. Test Seven. SOV Nullsec through NPC Nullsec Thera Hole, 1 Jump out of thera (no thera hole in system), Next Constellation Over (jumped constellation gate), NPC nullsec and Sov Nullsec connection was 1 gate jump. The Hole was in NPC Nullsec, I self Destructed in Sov Null. Result. Spawn in Thera

  8. Test eight. Wormhole Space. Self destructed (was a c2 highsec 40 jumps from thera). Result. Spawn in Thera

  9. Test nine. Jumped to a Jump Clone in another system. Succeeded. Clone left in Thera. Currently in highsec, self destructed. Result. Spawn in thera.

    10. Added Tests

  10. Test ten. Jumping to a jump clone in thera, while in thera at another station.. Warped to different station in thera that clone isn't installed in. Result: Cannot jump to clone.

  11. Test eleven. Jumping to a jump clone in the same station in thera. Docked in station with current thera clone. Result. Cannot jump to clone.



No matter where you are, If you die, you spawn in thera. Only test not done..

Direct SOV Nullsec Connecting Hole into Thera.

Direct SOV Nullsec Connecting Hole into Thera 1 Jump Out.

Jump Cloning into Thera from kspace.


Confirmed you can have a Jump Clone in Thera (I currently do).

You cannot JUMP to a jump clone in thera. Once you jump out of the clone, you must destroy it in order to recover the clone (basically, once you jump out, its gone unless you destroy it).

Confirmed you can jump clone Out of Thera. Confirmed you can jump to another clone you have somewhere else in the game (Jumped from Thera to a clone in Hibi (.5 space).

If you needed confirmation on this, you now have it.

I jump-cloned OUT of Thera.

However I wasn't able to JC back in.

Did you test this? Or just suicide back to medical clone?

Jump clones currently on cool down. Will know tomorrow

All of these were self destructs.

When I try to jump clone back to Thera I get this message:

Please contact your clone vat administrator"


I am able to jump to other clones in eve, just not this one.

If this is a feature and not a bug I recommend not allowing JC's OUT of Thera...

Otherwise you're liable to end up with clones building up in Thera as people JC out and then can't JC back in.

Actually, on further thought...

If I JC out of Thera, but can't JC in... How am I supposed to ever get back into that clone?

I haven't set Thera as my home medical clone station.

And I don't want to simply kill an expensive clone to get into another expensive clone..


I really hope this is a bug.

That's what's worrying me... also why I haven't yet filed a BR.... It looks too featurery atm.


EDIT: Also can't JC from one station in Thera to another station in Thera... Don't know if that's allowed outside Thera either, I've never tried it before.
Just looking to see if there was a way of swapping clones once one is stuck in Thera.

Yes, you can normally jump clone between two clones in the same system ( I do this in Amaar where I have a couple of clones for different purposes). My guess is there's a bug with jumping into a clone inside the Thera system, and that's why the station to station jumps fail too. I would go ahead and file a BR, tbh. The more time they have to look at it, the better.

Updated the op with two more tests this morning.

You cannot jump to a clone in the station the clone is in in thera.

You cannot jump to a clone in another station in thera.


Awkward situation. If you have implants in your clone, and you Jump Clone out of Thera. There is NO WAY you can recover that clone that is in Thera. The implants are gone, the clone is stuck as you cannot get into it. You can recover the jump clone only by destroying the jump clone in thera, and creating it somewhere else outside of thera (assuming you create a jump clone IN thera, you can't jump into it).

You officially have a bug.

Thanks for the testing and the reports, I'm tracking this issue and its in the capable hands of our programmers. I'm also adding this issue to the known issues for Thera.
