Are we seeing the same images?

Just I think the newer ones look much improved.

Nah - False alarm - I just looked over 100+ ships on SiSi - All looks good
- Amarr ships get nice swag Golden metal
- Gallente ships now have swag Chrome metal
- Caldari ships have nice slight difference of rough metals
- Minmatar not available in preview now..
better feel of rust \ dust \ dirt on every ship - nice rough feel of non-metal surfaces (example: amarr white Oracle)
better colors feeling under realistic light condition (colors not toxic \ toy-style)

Are you out of your mind? The Ark looks again like an abomination! Shocked And it absolutely does not follow the Carthum theme with this bugged version of the texture.

My ridicule, heavy criticism and general pale outlook about your or CCP's ideas is nothing but an encouragement to prove me wrong. Give it a try.

Some considerations:

- There's way too much dirt on Caldari and Gallente ships, Kaalakiota ships in particular. Where is all this dirt coming from? It looks like they've been operating in Iraq for three years.

- The matte green surface on standard-issue Gallente ships is too dull in comparison to the vibrant look it had pre-PBR. Consider either giving the Gallente green surfaces a soft shine, or making the green much more vibrant.

- Duvolle Laboratories ships are far too shiny in general. The Kronos looks awful - far too shiny for a Gallente ship. Tone DL ships like the Deimos, Kronos and Arazu down.

- Amarr ships in general look very good. No changes need be made except the occasional window-colour inconsistency, like on the Damnation.

Finally!

I have always felt that the Sansha ships looked out of place. Their ships were rough and dark-green, something which brings to mind a commando unit operating deep in some jungle - something that would suit the Guristas just fine, but looks out of place with the Sansha. Now they are the shiny, metallic, spiky, horrific harbingers of techno-slavery that they should have been from the start.

First impression: Installation fails with exceptions thrown into my face. Like it almost always does the first few tries. Sometimes I'd like to wish if this is normal for SiSi, or if my PC just objects to some small error in the code slipping through.

Second try is running now.

sarum paint is also not so bad. I like to change the window color.

However, the ark is a little strange.
Ark texture seems unfinished.

Caldari Kalakiota paint is too bad reality.
Too much dust.

Astarte
Kronos
Deimos
Nemesis

Gallente duvolle lab is Very shiny it seemed a little excessive.

First impressions after second installation try was succesful: WOAH.

The new graphical changes are all impressive and fine looking, kudos. I immediately changed my screen to a green-looking Gallente theme and it worked fine.

Really liking a Lot of the new goodies! You guys are doing a great job keeping Eve on the cutting edge, with what you got.

That said, My one Beef with you is that you are taking away my Color schemes with the new UI! What you have there, I like a couple, but it doesn't allow me to personalize it THE WAY I WANT, for each of my different characters! PLEASE, ALLOW a CUSTOM Color scheme! I love the new look, but give me my colors so I can quickly identify per color my characters that I have had them set to for years!

The color schemes are well, not crimson enough, or dark enough for my tastes. sure have your presets, but let us also have our Custom sets too!!! X

Whomever said, "You only get one shot to make a good impression," was utterly wrong. I've made plenty of great impressions with my Autocannons 

New Blackbird/Falcon/etc models are displaced (too high) from the camera, making for an awkward view while the camera is anywhere near your ship.

Secondly, when the new Eagle model (not sure of the others) goes into warp, the forward-facing (bow) pylon thingie retracts but leaves all the blinky lights on it out where it was before it retracted.

And other than the caldari t2 variant skins looking rusted, everything looks pretty fantastic.

Devs,

With this new rendering, do you also plan on introducing Dynamic Tone Mapping and inverse-square dynamic ambient lighting? Seeing the exposure change when flying across a system and crossing into planetary shadows would look incredible.

Kaalakiota ships are fixed. Thanks.

Nighthawk and to a lesser extent the widow have too much "rust", that's all i can say. I guess it makes sense however that bigger ships would survive for a longer amount of time and hence would get wear+tear.

Onyx + eagle look badass.

What happened to the bridge on the drake? Can see it on the nighthawk and drake navy issue models, but not the T1 drake.

Roden shipyards has beautiful reds. Like those for sure.

All in all i like the changes.

My review of all ship types:

Amarr basic: Absolutely drop-dead gorgeous. Easily my favourite skins in the update. Coercer looks baller.
Amarr Carhum: Pretty nifty too. The Absolution and the Ark look strange, otherwise everything is cool.
Khanid Innovations: Gorgeous as well. The Anathema looks epic.
Viziam: Big, big change. I can now tell the difference between Viziam and Amarrian!

Caldari: Nice update. Some ships look undetailed e.g. Drake, Naga, Scorpion and Rokh, but otherwise it's pretty good, especially on the older models.
Kalaakiota: Ew. Very beaten up skin. Clean it up.
Ishukone: Competes with the Gallente for shinyness. Tone down the glamour of the gold paint and I think I would be happy with it.
Lai Dai: Same as Caldari. Pretty good.

Gallente: Not good. Way, way too shiny. I'm fine with the silver areas being super polished and chrome, but the turquoise areas need to be brought back to their matte sheen.
Duvolle: Oh god. Tone it down. please
Roden: Not as bad as Duvolle, but still, tone down the shinyness of the bronze!
Creodron: Also needs tuning. Recommend making the green matte as well.

Minmatar (All): They trained cloaking to V or something?

Blood Raider: Too dull. Needs more contrast; maybe increase the vividness of the blood?
Sansha: Drastic change, a return to their original colour scheme. Would recommend returning the original shader to keep the disgusting green-purple effect that I love, or even recolour the ships themselves. They look unpainted at this point.
Guristas: Pretty bland. Would recommend increasing the quality or the contrast.
Angel: Sweet. No change needed.
Serpentis: same as Gallente. Needs a fine tune to decrease general shinyness.
ORE: No change needed. Perfect!
SOE: No change needed. Perfect!
Mordu: Makes the ships look very...flat? I dunno, change the contrast a little.

Any chance you could post some screeshots? (Onyx, Widow, Nighthawk, Golem Kaalakiota, etc.) I'm able to connect to SISI so I have to live vicariously through all of you...

I am currently away, traveling through time and will be returning last week.

Thorax looks like it got shot and part of its paint scrapped off. I think it might just be lower resolution/texture.

Would be nice for a ship's skin to show signs of wear and tear the longer it has been undocked. when you repair via the repair shop you could opt to make it look new again.
