Industrial Core Ideas

Allow the Industrial Core 1 or possible Tech 2 version to use Strontium Clathrates. Using this as fuel allows the Industrial Core to output more power. Boosting the Industrial Core from 10% up to 20%.

All the yes! Give the rorqual a base actual decent Passive Boost while undeployed. Since every other use has been taken from it. Give the Industrial Core something worth deploying over! +10

Maybe add different types of industrial cores that allow the Rorqual to be used for a variety of functions. For example:

- deploy for POS shield
- deploy for enhanced mining overseer boosts
- deploy for irregular customs office
- deploy for manufacturing lines
- deploy for reprocessing
- deploy for capacitor recharge
- deploy for industrial jump portal

This would make the Rorqual much more interesting compared to the one trick pony it currently is.

I can see Reprocessing, Boosts, Mayyybe an industrial Jump portal... Maybe.. and Maybe the Deployable Shield that sounds interesting... I don't really see the rest since the mind links cover it. Effectively you are turning the Rorqual into the new varient of the T3 Destroyers coming out.

Maybe tho Wrapping Some of those Ideas into a newer Version of an Industrial core, as the OP suggested say a Tech 2 core.. Have it with a Deployable shield For the Time that it is Active, During its Active it receives 20% Boosting, compression and a Bunker mode. This could go into the factor of them wanting it deployed into Belts. It would remove the Rorquals ability to Tractor and provide repping ability to the barges in the area. But the trade off is it would have a temporary Boost to it's Shields as if Hunkering down. It can't make any offensive abilities but the barges in the belt can Burn as quick into the shield as it can for Defense. Either the Red fleet Overpowers the Bunker Mode.. Before back up arrives and the Rorqual melts.. or Back up arrives and that bunker mode served its purpose and it continues to nom on Ore/Ice.

It's regular mode would give its current role better Bonus's Vs the Orca for Boosts.. OUTSIDE of the POS shield, as this is what CCP wants anyway.

This would remove the Drone damage bonus it gets now, Replacing it with newer more Industry based Bonuses about Survivability for the fleet and Industrious Actions. Making it the platform that it should be, A small portable station for industrial use. Clone bays, Boosting, Compressing, Jump in, Jump out and ship storage. Vs all it is now is a expensive booster with the rest of its Roles wiped out by Cheaper per month POS's and slightly less effective Max Orcas.

I also love the idea of a force field projector so the Rorq can be deployed as a mobile base for those more pioneering of pilots.

no all this does is increase the amount of ore on the market unless the T2 version can not be activated inside a FF -1

I don't think you understand how the Rorqual Industrial Core works, you only get a time reduction and range increase. Also have to justify the additional 10% since Stront is far heavy to transport. Less Heavy Water will be burned but more Stront will be burned in the change.

Another option would be to leave everything as is, but allow Stront to consumed at a far slow rate, right now 562.5 heavy water is burned by a Level 5 Pilot. Using Stront, you would burn only 50 units per cycle.
