When I first joined back in 2007/2008 I didn't realise for at least two years that you could click the sky and your ship would move in that direction, so to be honest I think it's welcome.

I did obviously right click and suss out the menu etc on account of the fact that I am not totally thick.

A recovering btter vet,  with a fresh toon and a determination to like everything that CCP does to Eve...

Don't take me too seriously though, I like to tease a bit on the forums, but that's only because I love you...

It's kinda scary that there are so many of you mutant freak lefties playing this game. Gross.

Also, I think people are getting a little too excited over WASD. With the server tick it's not going to be action packed dogfighting. Panning the camera and doubleclicking in space will probably still be a more accurate and direct way of moving. Can't wait to test it though.

This would be even better if we had:

1) A chase camera

2) A better overlay that doubled as a on-grid radar so one could be zoomed in on their ship and still know what is around them.

With original soundbites from Hunt for Red October!

In this case, we could have the slight audio distortion they had in the movie to spot the sneaky Russian sub, except for AFK cloakers!

That plus an ability to keep shooting with "forward locked' turrets and bays when jammed would be epic. I have heard it over 1000 times, the lamentation of "Well I could not move, could not target, nothing. Then I died. This game sucks".

If we could still at least shoot and "dogfight" when jammed and scrammed instead of having to wait to die, that would be a huge plus for the game.
It begins.

Adapt or die Serene.

We've had to do it all our lives. We should be the apex players of Eve, not worried about a little WASD introduction. I think I'll map the keys to all those extra mouse buttons I seem to have but never use.

What makes you think wasd will be more responsive?

Especially during large fleet battles? I'm more concerned it will make a bigger issue of my laggy antipodean connection to the server, even more presses to lose now.....

I find it counter intuitive to not be re spawned in my ship when I lose it stupidly....

Finally.

WASD for now, but joystick is inevitable. I can fly close to someone, release some flammable gas and when they shoot me, the gas will explode and kill them. The only thing missing was the joystick!'

But for real, it actually not a big deal, thus no outrage lol.

But can you do that while typing "I FART IN YOUR GENERAL DIRECTION" in local?

So I was thinking more about this. I know, I know. This Jvpiter fellow, does he ever actually think?

I imagine being able to go side to side without needing to flip your camera is a nice way to very quickly alter your traversal. As someone mentioned before, it would be interesting to see how much it affects Frigates in combat.

After all it's a pretty sound strategy that's been tested and proven in Zelda and Golden Axe so there's no reason it won't work here.

My brothers had to no e-honor at all in these games. It was all strafe to win.

Meh.

If brute force isn't working, you're just not using enough.

Nice mod, but not worth any stress.

Mostly good for bumbing and avoid bumbing. The rest remains unchanged and WASD doesn't help.
Not much more then another double click into space.
Smart it does not change much in control for EvE but for the player it feels he has a direkt control.
I really like it.

What's with all the references to clicking in space to move? Everyone knows that you have to click at least 10 times as fast as possible to get any response. It's the same principle that makes lifts arrive at your floor quicker if you keep pressing the button as fast as you can.
