Is there a way to have ONLY valid targets on your overview? No there is not.

I want ONLY wardec target, faction warfare target, and -5 security status people to show.

Since they are the only ones you can shoot on sight in highsec.

But when you only select those on the overview settings, nothing will show, you have to select some standings, and when you select say neutral standings, a bunch of other ships will show.

I tried to do something similar, and ran into the same problem.
After after 3 minutes of fiddling, I gave up.

There's probably some kind of solution, though.

I wonder what solution is it ^^

Its pretty stupid the way overview works, prioritizing standings requires that we set standings for every single person, corporation, alliance in the game, towards us, our corp and our alliance.

Can you do the math of how many standings would you have to set before the overview actually works in an acceptable manner?

If you run the ships through the EVE Overview Filter and then through your Brain filter, you'll end up being able to shoot at the correct targets.

The problem is that the overview filter works the opposite of how you would think it would work. It doesn't work by showing you the ships which match the options you have checked - it works by NOT showing you the ships which match the options which you have UNchecked.

No idea why CCP decided to do things this way, as it just makes setting up your overview that much more confusing for new players.

The overview setup is horrible and I'd love to see it pushed for a revamp for the next expansion.

You should take asteroids and stations out of your overview. It really helps.

I hate everything about the overveiw settings.

The best solution I have found is never shoot anyone in highsec.

Do you have those categories dragged to the top of your list, as a higher priority?

First. Go Under your Overview Options, Under Appearance, Drag At War with Corp/Alliance, Militia, -10, and -5 to the top of the list.

Then Check/Uncheck the boxes as to this image shows.

You are misunderstanding. What you describe merely changes how people appear on the overview, not who appears on the overview. Changing the order on the "appearances" tab is one of the solutions to making sure that pirates/outlaws who are blue don't show up as "flashy red" on your overview (not flashy anymore, unfortunately). However, it has nothing to do with what the OP is asking for - though he is being awfully hostile and aggressive.

FWIU the OP is correct. FWIU the 'Pilot has neutral standing' box is the culprit. If I uncheck that box then people I want to see on overview disappear and if I check that box then people I don't want to see on overview show up.

I'd rather the overview update properly than that they spend time fixing this.

Not agreeing with the OP's... "style" but he IS correct. You can't have only outlaws and WTs show without using the "show neutral", it has been like that since forever and it's sad in 2 ways;

1) it's still not solved
2) jokers without a clue say it works while it doesn't

You can solve the problem with one stupidly easy extra step: add your wartarget corp/alliance as a terrible contact. Set your overview accordingly. Just be sure to clean up your contacts so you don't see old wartargets and get yourself concorded.

Some people just lack the creativity to deal with stuff like this. The problem is they still possess enough literacy to post about it.
