Little confussed . Am curious of the thoughts behind what shows up as a pilot loss and what doesnt . For example someone attacks and destroies a drone it does not show up as a loss , benifit of this is why drones are deployed you have a chance to notice if someone is attacking them be it a belt rat , anmomly rat , mission rats or another player . But for the example of a MTU , you dont get any sign of it being attacked ( unless you have your own mtu targeted) but it will show up as a pilot loss just like a ship ????? how is this like loosing a ship , drones are atleast attached to a ship so that would make more sence to me so if any of you devs or others have a few cents on why this makes sence feel free to let me know .

MTUs work off grid, just like an independent ship. Drones do not function off grid.

Drones aren't even real people.

neither of those explain to my why it should count as a loss like a ship does , sorry if i wasnt clear in that part what to understand the thought behind why one counts as loss and one doesnt . and say because it counts as a km isnt really a answer to why it counts as a km .

as for working of grid , yes if you are still in space it works but so do pos parts but least you get a notice if someting happens to them correct

because its an asset in space, same as a pos, just smaller and not coded by satan himself

How else are you supposed to share hilarious stuff like this?

interesting , but that is part of my point , why is the coding for it the way it is because it doesnt really make sence . yes it is a very small space structure , and yes it can work if off grid and not docked . but enough to count the same as a ship . would make more since if they worked different , prehaps if they had a lock down mode like the mobile depot or just make them more like the drone . just kicking around the idea so i can understand the thought process more . is one of the things i have not yet figured out yet that i would like to understand more

Uh...drones are more like AMMO than like an extra SHIP?
That would make SENSE to ME.
Does it make SENSE to YOU?

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Every day thousands of drones are orphaned and left behind in the cold reaches of space. With a small but generous donation you will be contributing to the never ending work of finding these frightened and vulnerable drones and reuniting them with their friends and family and finding them homes.
You too can make a difference!

Being the altruist that I am, I do dedicate a portion of my play in searching out orphaned drones and mtu's... giving the former new homes and euthathizing the latter.
Not only are said lost drones then relocated to new owners, but the spaceways are that much cleaner after the fact.
This has NOTHING to do with me going completely OCD about my scan results. Nothing at all.

Come hell or high water, this sick world will know I was here.

Magnificent solo victories under 'kills'. Dirty filthy blobbings under 'losses'. Totally not biased.

Fighters do, and they even have people inside of them.

a) because it drops items

b) because it encourages blowing things up

It doesn't apply to drones because there'd be no use for drone killmails. It doesn't have to "count as a ship" or give notifications when it's shot.
