I sometimes fly logi in gangs where I can just manage to fit all my squad mates on a single watchlist but even still we often have a few sub divisions of the gang. Things like bait group, logi, support and dps come instantly to mind. What I'm suggesting here is that you be allowed to assign gangmates on your watchlist to various groupings in a similar vein to assigning drones to groups when you have a large bay.

So instead of seeing a watchlist like this:
Pilot 1
...
Pilot 10

You could set it up like this:
Initial Group
Pilot 1
Pilot 2
Pilot 3

Other Logi
Pilot 4
Pilot 5

Support
Pilot 6

Damage
Pilot 7
Pilot 8
Pilot 9
Pilot 10

Other uses I can think of would look something like this:

Anchor
Pilot 1

Backup
Pilot 2

I remote sebo this
Pilot 3
Pilot 4

I cap chain this
Pilot 5
Pilot 6

I primary this when my anger gets out of control
Pilot Whipping Boy 7

I'm sure you can fill in the rest of the blanks for yourself based on what you might need someone on a watchlist for and is really just a quality of life buff for when EVE happens and you lose locks or whatever and you need to re-establish your chain. Not strictly necessary and the game will survive not having it but I feel it would be a nice addition, especially for people like me with mild OCD who appreciate keeping things organized.

I've been meaning to suggest this for a while, and I don't doubt it's already been suggested.

I would be very happy with a similar 'grouping' mechanic to how drones are currently groupsed in their UI.
