Hello!

Not sure where to post, so please move this thread if it's not in the right part of the forum.

Background:
I created a new account a month ago and found myself spending a lot of time in "Rookie Help" channel.
One of the question that popped up a lot from Rookies that had completed the career tutorials was, 'What do I do now'?
Many times the answer was 'Go do what you want' or 'Do the SOE epic arc'.

Now, since the SOE epic arc gives the Rookie good ISK and a good story, I think that that it would be better to recommend doing it than not.
After all, Alts will go and do what the hell it is they intend to do anyway, so it would not effect them at all.

Suggestion:
Why not let Sister Alitura contact the Rookie the moment s/he have completed all of the career tutorials?
There could be a warning text telling the Rookie that they do not have to do the SOE epic arc, but go do what they want to do instead.
There should also be a quick popup when the arc is completed, telling the Rookie that they should now go and do what they want, and recommending them to join a player corporation.

Thoughts?

This is a feedback & ideas thing. NPE / new player experience is being worked on.

Although I believe steps towards a better NPE is a good thing to do, I don't believe an NPC dialog will suddenly inspire a so called EVE rookie to throw caution to the wind and follow their sandbox destiny.

If the person was blindly following orders to begin with, likely not much will change their attitude.

Also, this is better than what you are suggesting:

That layout is way fluffed up with obscure stuff I wouldn't consider "gameplay" or at least not worth mentioning as a "thing to do" in EVE. Like sneaking up on smartbomb ships, or playing with EFT, or racing.

I'm pretty sure the tutorial agents point you to Sister Alitura for further training already.

They do indeed, and what's wrong with having to go looking for her?
