Not quite sure, what my first trip to lowsec actually contained.

But I'm sure that at some point I lost a Rifter.

Rinse repeat.

My first time in low sec was acting as a diversion to keep some pirates away from a hauler passing through, I achieved the objective by heading to the station, but my ship was destroyed when I undocked and I was podded too, and my fit was hilarious... I was 19 days old, after that I then went into Carrou to practice the game in a hostile environment, did not lose a ship doing that but got out in structure once when I found out just how good some people are with probes. I found it a very valuable experience for when I headed to 0.0 when I was 8 months old.

Seriously recommend any new player to head into low sec to have fun, you will not regret it.

EDIT: Damn forgot to mention it was a Brutix that killed me...

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

I hauled some stuff through Amamake as a total newb back in the day, actually turned out to be a good shortcut the first time through. When I came back through the second time I got caught in a camp. I wasn't so much mad as perplexed. We got blown up in that area ratting a little later and that was when I learned my lesson. I spent some time figuring out how to move around "bad" space and practicing after that. Lived in a wormhole for a while, did a bunch of PvP in low-sec (I'm a terrible pirate), used to rat in Syndicate and Great Wildlands... Now I day-trip wormholes from low-sec because it's fun and fairly lucrative for my limited play time.

Went there last night in a venture fitted for running away.

I was 8 days old the first time I ventured into low sec was to complete a frigate buy order that would have resulted in a 300% mark up on what the frigates were selling for where I was based. I loaded up my hoarder and started the 5 jump route. 2 jumps into low sec was locked and melted before I could figure out what the flashing red things were that were beside me.

Before I could react my pod was locked and pointed. One of the gankers said in local: Make me laugh or we take your pod. I wrote out the Eddie Murphy beer in the woods with **** sticking to its fur joke. They laughed, escorted me back to high and spent the next 20 minutes giving me advice on how to play Eve Online.

Getting in, getting out of low sec even for the first time wasn't so hard. My first Low Sec trips had haulers, frigates and a BattleCruiser in a station in low sec where I had standings. It was never my plan to just go there, do an EVE bucket list, check mark and head back to high sec to actually accomplish something. I planned to stay and belt rat, try to mine a bit. I didn't really care that most of the ore was 'low ISK' or that the rats weren't really any better in the long term. It was just something to try. I spent a week or so of docked or aligned to evade the harassment and unable to fight or loot, was able to see that it was NPE bait trap, put all my stuff in haulers and moved it back to high sec.

I saw it as just another grand illusion in the game of EVE Online.

Finished tutorials, headed to the nearest 0.5, did some missions, started belt ratting.
One mission sent me to Bosena, a bunch of yahoos appeared in the mission and sensor damped me. I was miles from the pocket gate, got away, completed the mission later.
Noticed the belt rats were big and had fat bounties. Busy killing a Cynabal flying belt rat one day, thinking 'this is the biggest thing i've killed so far' when a sentinel decloaks and violences my thrasher. Pilot gave me some money.
Dodging gatecamps in Heild, missions in 0.1 systems, then solo mining B-VIP9 in a Burst for crying out loud. The pipe from Teonusude to GW null was my first playground and a tough teacher.

It was one of those sultry Indian Summers. I was feeling very frisky, and the urge to throw caution to the wind overcame me after my first viewing of Alfie. His name was Herman. He invited me to the Homecoming dance. I just couldn't resist. He was harmless, and if a harmless Herman wasn't safe for a low security ride down lover's lane, who was?

I remember looking on the in-game map for the nearest low-sec system I could find to take my venture to...
Noticed one called "Abha", got in my little yellow submarine and headed over, already envisioning myself rolling in isk from what-ever-it-was-you-found-in-0.4-systems.

So I'm sitting there drilling away at some jaspet, and a ship shows up on grid, so I hit warp and wave at him cheekily.

Until I plowed nose-first into the rock I was mining... again.... and again.... and again... until the Ferox boated over to me and blew me to pieces.

Pod got out though, and he gave me the useful tip of 'Keep enough distance between yourself and the roids so you can warp away"

And...
Over the next month spent more time in low, been living there ever since.

My buddy and I took a thorax and a omen into lowsec to go PvP about 2 weeks after we both started. We roamed around with no real rhyme or reason looking for something human to shoot at. We found a buzzard decloaked on a gate who was afk (this was back when you had to warp to a bookmark to get to gates at 0). So my friend starts shooting it, loses his omen to gate guns solely and I finish the buzzard off in my thorax. About 30 minutes later we both start getting hatemail from the buzzard we killed saying things like 'You noobs are dead, I know mercs, you'll regret ever kiling me'.

About a week later the buzzard's mercs wardec us and warn us that we are not safe anywhere and should stay docked up the entirety of the war. So the war starts and one day we notice about 4 war targets in local. My buddy and I, accompanied by another friend who had started playing a few weeks ago, undock and warp straight to the gate we assumed the mercs came from. We blew up a recon and a bomber at the gate then warped to our station in system. One more bomber followed us there and before we could point him he warped to a can that was 300 km off station. We warped there and killed him too.

We docked up victorious and proceeded to talk massive amounts of sh!t in local about how we were brand new to the game and just beat all them. So the main merc guy brings back a raven and kills all of us.

Not today spaghetti.

Wayy back when, I was told that Lowsec was a good place to find fights in a frigate.

It took a good 20 jumps before I found someone who would politely relieve me of my hull.

Same. My very 1st loss was a Rifter to a Brutix in low sec, and the guy gave me my stuff back and some isk and some advice. Chief amongst the advice was "your ship is a tool, not your home". I've lived by that for 7 years.

First time in lowsec, a month into the game I was killed/podded. The guy who did it explained what I did wrong and sent me 20 mil. ISK for not rage quitting on him.

I have been scamming pirates in lowsec for ISK ever since.

Low sec remember Empire is keeping a record of what you do there.

I took a mission in low sec where you have to destroy a large structure to finish.

Sure enough someone scanned me down before I could manage it.

First the scanning ship briefly appeared, then came the wolf.

luckily it was just one.

I was in a Cyclone which defended itself, the wolf warped out.

Continued to destroy the structure, the wolf appeared again 10 minutes later, just as the structure was destroyed.

The Cyclone fought it off again
In total battling with this wolf for about 20 mins
Docked back in high sec with a looted ded space mwd from the mission.
Maybe their were a few flames coming out the back of my battle cruiser but you have to have some fun don't you ?

Me and my college roomy went a month or so after we started playing..... I did some jaspet mining he killed the rats we made some money then got smashed to death by a stealth battleship.....

Have never been back.....

low is the A****** of the eve universe. If you want to go to low go to null or WH space.

The only reason to be in low is to kill care-bares, kill the people killing carebares, or sell crap to said carebear killers.

I went there as a total newb because of the usual skillbook mistake that everyone makes exactly once.

Got shot at under station guns and docked my Catalyst safely in low armor, injected my skillbook, then logged off in fear for half an hour.

Now, I know lowsec Sinq Laison very well and can tell you from a system name whether I'd be confident to enter without a scout or not, and what type of player lives in or frequents the area.

I was the CEO of a highsec scrubcorp at the time. One day, a corpie said his vexor was tackled in lowsec. By a badger.

So I did the only logical thing and fit up a meta0 Rifter to go and bail him out.

The badger warped off as we landed, but then I warped to a random asteroid belt and killed a roflfit cyclone. Pirate

First time in low sec was when I was pried from the nurturing bosom of noobie missions in amarr starting zones, told what to train, what to fit, given a punisher and told how to plex for loyalty.

Sometimes I fumble the jump through tama and die, usually I make it.

So nostalgic to look back two days ago when I was one day old in eve and being shown low sec. Good Times.
