Player monument location?

I've searched around for a while now, but I can't seem to find the actual location of the EVE player monument. I'd like to know, as I'm going to Iceland in a few months, and really want to visit it. I mean sure, I can see my main's name via the player name locator, but to see it in person is something else.

Anyways, does anyone know the location? Like a street address, or the address of the square/center/hub that it's located at?

Reykjavik, Iceland – 5 February 2014 -- In celebration of the first decade of the EVE Universe, CCP Games today confirmed plans announced at Fanfest 2013 to erect a monument in the picturesque downtown harbor of Reykjavik,

Bolded and underlined the important part.

Right on. I guess Reykjavik is smaller than I first assumed. I suppose we'll just take a drive/walk down there.

Thanks.

Right down by the docks... Will it have a pleasure hub inside?

CCP has no sense of humour.

That's the correct place, although Google Streetview is outdated and missing the monument.

Here's the view from CCP Guard's side of the office. Source

So for directions:

  1. Go to the CCP office in Reykjavík (Grandagarður 8)
  2. Find the side with the yellow/white ship 'Gullborg' (side-street: Rastargata)
  3. Walk towards (but not into) the sea
  4. There it is

I have removed some rule breaking posts and those quoting them.

    The Rules:
    5. Trolling is prohibited.

Trolling is a defined as a post that is deliberately designed for the purpose of angering and insulting other players in an attempt to incite retaliation or an emotional response. Posts of this nature are disruptive, often abusive and do not contribute to the sense of community that CCP promote.

A building shaped like a ship. The ship being a Mastodon so it fits in with the other ships.

This, keep your dislike of any other players restricted to the game. Unfortunately someone took their aggressions to the monument and defaced a piece of history.
Needless to say, they got hit by the big banhammer, both ingame and to Fanfest.
