Just lost another ship

Well I finally made it to my destination B-R5RB, and was having a quiet look at the Titan wrecks when I had my Corax and pod blown up: i.e. Sad

But I was foresighted enough to have upgraded my clone in a safe system station to safeguard my skill points, so I only lost the ship and assorted stuff in the cargo bay, so he didn't get much in in the way of loot, and this kill entry shows it was only 5.4 million isk.

I didn't see him on my overview, so can a cloaked ship attack you, and if so, how can you lock on a ship that doesn't appear so you can fight back?

My next ship will be a cruiser for when I go back into low sec, as my Corax Destroyer didn't last long, as the shields went in a few seconds, and before I could start moving boom, game over. And as the link shows he had a Heavy Assault Cruiser.

I also noticed in the neighbouring systems as I made my way to B-R5RB I was refused docking permission, as they didn't like my allegiance and rating ect at several stations, but before that I could dock after having paid a small fee. Very odd.

It sounds like a rhetorical question, but I really don't see where else you intend to go with your opening post. So, if you intend to start a discussion based on that question...

No, unless there is a glitch/workaround I haven't heard of, you absolutely positively cannot attack another ship while cloaked because the cloaking device prevents the activation of modules. Moving forward from that, I doubt the Zealot even had a cloaking device equipped, as they do not sport any bonuses to that device. It is possible he had a basic one, but then his movement and sensors would be severely restricted.

If you didn't see him on the overview, it is possible that something got unchecked at some point. Double-check that all ships are checked off for your overview settings.

Let's discuss overhauling the way we get intel in EvE.

My guess (without all the wonderful sarcasm) is that you had settings in your overview messed up ---
If you have a travel tab that excludes ships for instance...
I have a travel tab like that but would only use it for a moment, at best, to align in null sec then it gets set back to hostiles tab...

Had you truly been this newbie / naive, you would've had auto-lock-back turned on still by default and seen the Zealot.

Although, I wouldn't be surprised if you died faster than you could've locked back. Definitely go back in a bigger ship next time.
