When will CCP start fixing all the issues in EvE Online, I'm tired of oh this ship is horrible for PvP instead you should just train up for Minmatar or Amarr they have great PvP ships...Why not make every ship able to do all other aspects in game with there certain unique strengths. I know Electronic warfare ships is only made for jamming ships, but what I'm talking about is make other ships getting respect from the community. All you ever see mostly in nullsec is Maelstrom's, Abbaddons, Capitals, etc. Just certain ships and if you've been seen with a ship that's not selected for the fleet it will get destroyed or be asked for you to get in one of the selected ships that they ask for. I understand Gallente are short range, but you need to boost the railguns significantly when they are actually in good use for PvP. Sure they might be good for PvP. although EvE Online is supposed to be free player environment for all players to choose what they like to do for their legacy.
Caldari on the other hand...once again, they suck at PvP and are only good for PvE like missions, ratting, etc. The Rokh battleship is a pretty good sniper range ship, but why not that you boost the resistance of a Raven and the damage for the torpedoes so it can actually kill on a 1 to 1 battle or be useful in fleets. Minmatar and Amarr is seriously OP and you should reduce their bonuses just by a few inches. Like the Tempest, Maelstrom, etc. So you will have the other races a chance to have a rich more environment in EvE Online. People have been pointing this out a lot, but let's make this post all the way to the top of the forums where CCP understands the situation and fixes the issues, so EvE Online can have a much more success in the MMO community.

I liked your post because I found it impressive you read through that (albeit small) wall of text.

I think the OP is looking for a Rock, Paper, Scissors system on armor and weapon systems.

which in case of EVE would probably be more a Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock.

Post below here will be like

Paper: "Rock is fine, nerf Scissors"

ect ect

^ Good point this.

OP...PvP is more varied than just null sec blob vs. null sec blob.

Anyone who tells you an Ishkur is no good for PvP...Laugh at them.
Anyone telling you a Myrmidon/ enyo/ harpy/ drake/ cerb/ rook/ falcon/ scorpion/ Kitsune etc. etc. are no good for PvP......laugh at them.
It's all about the right tool for the job....or if you prefer, the right job for the tool. Some ships fulfil certain roles better than others, this is intended and fine. While there are always going to be some ships that need a little love, it's not as dire as many would have you believe.

Trying to make every ship capable of fighting the same way, in the same gangs, with the same goals would be boring as hell. Might as well just scrap three of the races and be done with it.

This is one of those threads where I post against my better judgement.

First off, OP needs to lurk moar, and perhaps gain some more pvp experience before running off with "X race sucks, and Y races are win".

Because the ships you fly are largely independent of your characters race there is no reason for the ships to balance perfectly (or rather, there is substantial leeway) and I personally believe that variety and flavour is more important than a perfect balance at any rate.

Each race has ships which have scenarios in which they excel. From there it is a question of what the pilot can do with the ship. In general the ships that are considered "good" like Rifters are because they are easy to fit in a competitive way. This does not mean that a Merlin or Kestrel sucks. Some people do think like this but they're probably idiots. *shrug*

Minmatar have the advantage of having faster ships which means they can choose and run from engagements more effectively than other races. Amarr has lazers. Caldari has ECM. Gallante has drones. Among other things among each race.

In 0.0, for large fleet fights, it has been found that fleets made up particular fits are superior to a hodge-podge. So inevitably one type of fleet BS will be chosen, it's 1/4 of being your chosen race. Deal with it.

I'm waiting to see how the hybrid buff pans out. That said, I've used Ravens and Drakes in PvP out in null in years gone by. I was a damage dealer. Gallente pilots webbed. We used an interdictor to lock them down. We all had our roles. At close range, missiles pretty much do instant damage like guns, but they can do it while approaching at full power.

Caldari are bad at solo PvP because they conflict with shields, but they are great damage dealers since little conflicts with damage mods. Combine that with full damage on approach, and their role is clear.

I see your Spock, and raise you one paper.
