Clean up in Space...

After 10 years (this Feb) of playing I decided to have a clean up, I mean my junk left on various locations over time.

If anyone else has experience of this post and tell...

So I opened up my "personal assets" and well couldn't even begin to get the list on screen, after 2 days of traveling around (sometimes in a shuttle and sometimes in my Hauler I have painfully repacked / reprocessed / trashed and hauled items.

It has been painful but worthwhile, I'm starting to have a clean asset list now.

Would be interesting to know how many items people actually have over what period of time, unfortunately I didn't count but it was alot.

Final clearing up is going to be challenging if not impossible with 44 items in G-Q5JU 74 jumps, actually these items are quite valuable but even if I could get there through what looks like 5 alliances these days I still wouldn't have access to the station so I guess my clean up will just have to have a messy history left in it.

Get in an interceptor and make a run for it or a probing ship and see if you can find some wormholes that can get you there also.

Thought about that and I could probably make it but I won;t have access to the station, thats the biggest problem, actually just calculated the worth or items down there and it's very significant (not posting the value ).

Yeah, get a ceptor and burn toward that system until you will get into range of your selling skills. Then just put them on sale and wait for cash. If those items are valuable - and I mean really valuable in general not only for you - you shouldn't wait too long. Especially if they happen to be in the middle of space belonging to somebody who doesn't want his station showing up on market listings, locals might just buy you out to get rid of reasons for visitors to come.

Good idea, for the next few days I've put a courier contract on if that doesn;t work I might well try what your suggesting as many items would be worth alot that far out given it's probably one of the most remote stations in the universe (i think there is only 1 or 2 one more jump further, lol)

I've been playing for seven years on and off with two, now three... wait, that makes four... or, er... never mind... alts, and all my wordly possessions are consolidated to a few places - Rens, Amarr, Jita, Corp Hangar Somewhere, Current Character's RP Homeworld - and within those places, nicely tucked into few Mammoths, Fenrirs, Bestow... (never mind) ...Station Containers or other containers that helpfully came along. In fact, when I open Jade's assets, for example, I see like 10 items, most of which are in Rens or Jita. And she's supposed to be the main! Or alt. Or main. Retired NPC corp members can't into main. *sigh*

Grrr corp thieves thieving stuff i forgot about, though.

Oh, well, EVE.

I'm currently doing this, but across 3 accounts. After about a week i'm at 8B in assets sold. And a crap load more to go. Had to stop due to a war dec though.

An easy way to see your assets is to go to the eve technology lab forum and search for jassets. it will give you a good break down of prices and let you quickly organize and see what you actually have, so you can decide if you want to fly the 50 jumps to 10m isk or just trash the lot

Its also amazing how many times I have gone 'wait I have that?!?! really?!? when the **** did I buy that?!?'

OMG Comet Mining idea!!! Comet Mining!

-or-

You can save yourself the hassle and contract your stuff to me.

I have agreements with over 30 large alliances and allies for docking rights, as well as the death sentence in 12 systems.

I do charge a small fee for my services. Contract me your things, with a 0 ISK cost and send me 50mil isk + 20mil per 2.5ly jump (as determined by Dotlan jump planner, results will be verified prior to delivery) in the reason line put your name and destination system. All items will be contracted back to you at 0 ISK cost, unless there is an overage in ly according to Dotlan.

Why use UaE over Frogs?

Because Frogs just move your stuff, I do it with style and professionalism the likes of which most people can only dream of.

Why should I believe you?

Why would you not? Ask anyone here, I am as legit as it gets.

What are the limitations?

I cannot move Titans or Supers, but then again.. why would you have a Titan docked in a hostile station?

When it comes to stuff, I am as serious as it gets. Im sure the many people who have used my service would agree and be happy to recommend me. I look forward to hearing from you!

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

I was in this corporation once that strewed items all across known space. I couldn't believe how disorganized it was. The idea, which I could never grasp, of just dropping things here and there, reminded me of how some people keep their rooms, or houses. I guess organization with regard to functionality is too important to me.

All you noobs. Don't do it. Don't leave junk promising you'll get back to it one day. One day never comes, but that day when you have to do like the OP will eventually. Prevention is the best cure.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

I did it once. It took me 3 days Smile

Anyway, I put the inaccessible assets on public sell contracts since I didn't want to bother to travel to the region in order to put them on the market. It took a couple of weeks for someone to buy them, but they got sold.

By the way, a cleaned assets list is like a new start. Great feeling afterwards Big smile

i have been there too... starting is the hard part, once you get going its not that bad. the main problem is that at some point on the process it will hit you, eve is clearly not a game, its a hobby. otherwise you would not be devoting days of your life towards doing "inventory" for free when people get paid to do so irl.

I recently did this as well.......
After a consolidation of sorts i gave up after 3 days....but managed to get nearly 4 billion in assets sorted out to sell, in some cases grind down for mins, and plain just turn over to corp for our production needs.

If i ever get my first main back into play...i already know doing his will be hell....since he is a 2010 toon and has tens if not hundreds of items in stations across all over highsec, losec, and even nullsec. Its a headache im not looking forward to so he may just remain unsubbed in blissful retirement.
