Increasing PI Efficiency

I've only been doing PI on my 2 mains for a few months now. They live in nullsec and the planets there are loaded with resources. My corp also has a zero % tax when I use the spaceport and customs office to collect my goodies. Easy pickings to say the least..............

I have found that having my extractors dump into the spaceport instead of a basic processor allows the extractors to harvest 24 hours continuously without having materials bottleneck due to the speed of processing. I always have surplus material i collect until I have enough to dump into stand alone processors later. This works well when you have rich planets and a zero tax.

My 4 alts are in their own corp and manufacture constantly in high sec. I recently trained them to level 4 PI skills thinking it would be semi-passive and be a supplement to manufacturing. The planet resources are poor in high sec compared to null and there is a 15% customs tax. Using spaceports to shift materials around is very costly so I'm just having 2 extractors dumping into 4 basic processors which dump into 2 advanced processors. I mostly use these refined commodities in my own manufacturing so i don't have to buy as many as before. The cost of setting up colonies isn't very much and I only spend minutes a day maintaining them.

I enjoy finding better ways to become more efficient. I've tried multiple planet colony setups but seemed to spend to much time maintaining them. What are your most efficient setups doing your PI? -chuk

I have 6 toons with 6 planets each, which means a total of 36 installations. Or at least I did. Maintaining 36 planets, even on a fairly infrequent 7 day cycle soon becomes a chore, especially if as I was doing, you maxed T0->T1, moving it to a factory planet to make T2 and then moving it again to another factory planet to make T3.

I did have all 36 in null sec but the sov holders, who aren't all that bright, whacked taxes up to 20%. An understanding of how the market works would have prevented this but, alas, not everybody reads Keynes. I transferred all of my PI to low sec and chose 5% planets, with a few 10% ones. So rather than taking the increased tax from me the sov holders now get precisely zero. HAHA.

Listen, there's absolutely no reason you need to be doing anything in high sec unless you own the customs office, have a 0% tax and they're just factory planets. Make warp points around customs offices you're going to use in low sec and use a cloaky hauler like a Viator. Do your customs office/planet stuff cloaked at your safe and just warp down to transfer goods. You'll be uncloaked at the office for under 10 seconds, once a week (or whatever your cycle is).

By the way, with 36 planets even on 7 day cycles maintenance soon becomes a real chore, so I no longer do PI at all!

My three toons are in a WH. For two of them I harvest and make P1 on individual worlds (9-10 factories each), then outsource them to a factory world to make P2 or P3 products. With this I am able to make about 2,200 P2 items or ~320 P3 items per day.

I also have two pairs of planets working to make P2 together. I can manage to keep 4 factories on each planet creating P2, while still harvesting the resouces. Then a couple odd worlds dedicated to oxygen because they're too big to do much else.

With regards to storage, you should absolutely route your extractor output to the spaceport, especially because this means you don't have to re-route every time you move the extractor. I've never found a convincing reason to use a storage facility personally.

I update and haul daily. Takes about half an hour for all three toons. If you aren't doing daily hauling I don't recommend being in high-sec, an Epithal with a T2 Cloak + 10mn MWD is relatively safe in low population low-sec systems. I even lived in null with that for a short while - in space which I did not own.

Extractor > Launchpad > Basic > Launchpad > Advanced > Launchpad

That is with 1 Launchpad, doing all the buffering. In NS, you can fill up the Launchpad though in like 3 days, so need to be careful and limit the extraction rate.

You can use 2 Launchpads as well, 1 at each extractor to buffer twice as much, and still come under storage unit power requirements.

Planetary production ist an activity with need time to do this. , not an alt activiy when you have 36 infrastructure like you .
one key to effiency its to reduce travel betwenn infrastructure , so groups some infra in same planets near same system /constellation .

Check mapps of chain products for optimisation ( same item are use in many production )..

you can also produce 2 or more layer in same infra ( reduce taxe / move good ) but with less effiency that a separate activty

exemple P0 (Raw ) -> P1
P1 to P3 ....

so the good model depend of you own factor in game : time to spend to eve ;)

Nota: limits of octopus Account its the numbre of your real arms ... n facts multi account its time sharing brain @ activity ... its less efficiency that real player ;)
