Start with the fit shown above by Stoicfaux. It is a solid start for an active tank fit.

If you prefer passive tank, then have a look around. I bet you can find threads here and even on Battleclinic that give you a basic idea of how to make a passive fit RS. It is one of the top handful of ships used and talked about for PVE prior to Marauders.

Crime, it is not a "career", it is a lifestyle.

I'll look at it but I do not want to use any Capacitor Boosters. Anyway not enough CPU power.

Why not? They are far more effective than passive cap modules and keeping track of an additional type of consumable is surprisingly easy to do.

I opposed cap boosters on mission boats for years, much like you do now. After the first time I tried one (on my Kronos) I never went back.

Having said that, you don't need a cap booster on a passive shield tank. There, your goal is to maximize resists and shield recharge rate (which is done by maximizing hitpoints and minimizing shield recharge time), not cap.

According to EFT my new Rattlesnake's active pulse shield tank against Guristas: 120k EHP, 428/551 HP/s shield recharge speed, resists: 87% KIN, 67% THERM. Enough?

OK. Of course those data are with MJD on-board.

EDIT: Finally I know the trick! The trick for Rattlesnake's active shield tank is: Medium Shield Booster + 2x Kinetic Dissipation Field + LMJD. Lol

If Guristas are exploding left and right from you, you are doing it right.

Mission accomplished! In final version after some skilling I will have 700/900 HP/s sustained/pulsed active shield tank and 1300 DPS gank on my MJD-Rattlesnake against Guristas. I think that's enough.
