Instead of just the Most Wanted Lists, you could sort (or see) the Most Wanted in specific Star systems and Regions as well. It would give smaller starting corporations, that maybe struggle for membership another way to create small gangs, that can pick out targets and try to hunt them down and collect the bounties. It seems like you're almost forced into Mining and Industry to make decent wages. Or an Individual could attempt to be like... Boba Fett Lol

The inherent problem with the current bounty system is that someone having a bounty does not make them a legal target, so in null/low you're already trying to kill them regardless, and in high, you could either kill them or you couldn't, depending on other factors, so it's more of just a 'hey look, I got a bonus/prize' for killing Jewclops.

Ya that would be cool if there was some way to improve that system and make Bounty Hunter a Career

It seems like a bunch of fluff and expansion upon a system which is fundamentally broken. Finding bounty targets isn't the issue, giving incentive to hunt them down is. In order for it to be fiscally reasonable to hunt down targets in high-sec, you have to be able to kill them with ships valued at less than 20% of your target's killmail. What are the chances you're going to, say, happen to catch them flying a freighter and manage to organize a gank crew?

Agreed - as Jur pointed out......like exploration (which is finally getting buffed with Phoebe - I hope it will be enough to fix it and make it a fun career again), the bounty hunting system is broken.

Someone had posted a thread here a while back about a system whereby individuals have to pay to buy a license to hunt people with bounties in hisec....can't remember the details but might be a step in the right direction.

Either way it's been broken for way too long and I'm sure CCP is aware of this. My understanding is the issue with the old system of getting bounties when you kill someone or pod them is that people with high bounties would exploit it by having a friend kill them, then they split the isk.

You're right about the system being broken. I kind of like the License Idea. A restructuring of it could be done for sure. When I first started playing, I thought a Bounty was 'accumulated' through 'actions' of the Capsuleer. A Bounty is something to be respected as an Outlaw. The cliche question, whats the bounty on my head?

I was thinking that at the Bounty Office, you would purchase a contract on the Bounty of someone you picked from the (Region / Star System) list.

If you can make the Bounty meaningful for both the Capsuleer with the bounty, and the Capsuleer trying to track down the bounty.

Maybe the Bounty is more related to the Capsuleer in a specific system or region. Like my bounty could be 1 Mill in this star system but 0 or only 100K in the next

It's tough but the longer we support discussion, might nudge some changes to the Bounty System.
