I can understand Rockets but not so much HAMs.

Rockets are actually useful.
HAMs are mildly useful for PvE.
Torps are pretty much only useful for SBs ganking hi/lowsec.

Honestly, given the choice between HAMs with RoF bonus and 0 resists or RLMLs, there's not much competition to be had.

Hey, they are still 2 weeks out from release. Even the name for them is still up in the air as it stands. Go hotdrop the feedback threadnaught and make yourself heard.
