So when I started playing my other char he quickly did caldari missions and hurt many poor gallente, at the time it seemed like no issue, but later as the game opens up you come to realize it is nice to have open space lanes to travel. My standings with gallente are -6.84 and I have read "the plan" that is a guide to fixing these standings but it seems impossible without always getting storyline missions that would destroy your standings vs another faction. Anyways, I was thinking it would be cool to implement some sort of unpaid labor, a mission line that was accessible in lowsec areas or friendly factions highsec so that those who cannot enter a factions space can humbly repent and work off their debt to the society. Anyways maybe I killed too many gallente and this can never be forgiven. Just an idea, jail, community service, some epic arc that doesnt screw your other standings etc. And maybe make it exponentially hard as its repeated or more work etc... I am thinking this should be a one time thing for those of us out there who came into the game not thinking access to all of high sec mattered and jumped into FW maybe or did something they now just want to repair and keep doing their thing. Anyways any other suggestions or input would be great thanks for reading. - fly dangerous

And not supporting. You still have access to two high-sec areas (assuming your security status is okay).

you know THERE ARE missions in Low sec for Factions that hate you
they called lvl 1 missions

cause you can accept lvl 1 mission even the state hate you so can fix you standing at low sec

No. You want to fix your standings? Grind. Other games have a "fix your poor decisions easily" mechanic and it's fine for those games. EVE is not those games, however, and is about actions having consequences. Now deal with your consequences.

Do your community service by killing the appropriate faction of pirates, collecting their tags and turning them in at the datacenters.

They already have a form of jail built into the game it is called the mission grind.
Go serve your time and follow the prescribed path to rebuild those standings.

What do other games have, please tell me about the other ideas people have used because I do not play other games, that have a faction standings and punishment system eve does. I am not saying its bad its just boring did missions for awhile got bored of them now have to do them to be able to travel but its fine with me. Same missions tho.

I do find it funny they allow people to buy all their sec back now while I have flown hours in circles in GW farming sec back in the past when needed in a bomber... So it seems they want to make it easy for sec (which was easy) but not for faction?

DATA CENTER TAGS. It is already implemented as a way to put you back to zero any time, and put your standings up once per non-lvl 1 agent in the data center.

It was just a suggestion people thinking I care about my personal grind are wrong. I do however know the grind and know that for new players it would be a turnoff for someone who is not as into eve, maybe some would choose to biomass. If that is what you all support fine.

I was looking for a cool idea for a path to repentence, even if it takes longer then 160+ lvl 1 missions per 1 points of - faction standings.... Seems you could do something more intereesting with your time that would make you see parts of the eve universe you maybe dont usually. If it made you participate in a giant battle vs npcs once a month for the faction of choice, or sent you around the universe for hours.

I know there are missions in highsec that I can run, I did those, the most frustrating part would be the storyline faction killing missions that pop up where I think you can find another person who doesnt mind destroying their personal stats, or you choose to decline and have to do another 16 to get offered another an so on.

I am capable and willing to run lvl 1s in lowsec while looking for fights so that is fun for me, LP rewards arent bad for how fast I can drop em, so like I said no problem here. But it is mind numbing and repetative (as is much of eve pve...) I was just hoping to bring some new aspect to the serious consequences that are faction standings in eve...

Everyone chill and maybe contribute ideas or just keep quiet thanks.

Yeah I had read about that but still hadnt used them, knew it involved tags but wasnt thinking that you just bought them. Also was thought they were off limits to people at -5.0 or lower because they are all in high sec so kinda hard to transport tags or safely meet up with them. I figured they were in space like beacons I did not want to get blapped before unloading the tags.

They are. Deliver a load of tags in shuttle and then dock back up, rinse and repeat.

I have 20/20 at 29 and easily ready the fox space news post in the crime section.

To the guy that says running missions when you get bad rep to do level 1s. I was going to do that with a character i was going to rebalance standings i was going to need over 1500 lvl 1 missions......
