Player Features and Ideas Discussion

Not posting in Features and ideas as its more or a dreamers dream than anything else. But in my opinion it would be an awesome evolution of the flying in space/PI/Boots on the ground (and orbital flight).

I came to the though while playing Elite and looking at what star citizen and elite are looking at in the future.. CCP have to do it this time and get it right or EVE could be in a very different world soon despite being a different type of game... so anyway......

PI 2.0 -

In my CQ I check that my dropsuit is configured correctly with appropriate modules and weapons/tools to build an instalation on the planet below. Leaving CQ for the Hanger - I have loaded the planetary infrastructure i have purchased into my landing ship (these come in different sizes depending on whether i'm moving just myself, or a small corp or larger groups, maybe 10 clones per ship).

I leave the station and warp to the planet I come our of warp in an orbital above a continent, a scan of the planet reveals which places an overlay around the world showing that the continent below has the materials i am looking to extract. I select the continent and hit the enter atmosphere option. Finding a nice not very visible spot i land the ship.

I enter construction mode - Similar to now but the scan overlay is shown on the top left from an orbital level as a small world that can be rotated when its container is highlight. The main portion of the screen shows a zoom able top down view of the area of the world I am in. Not quite right? I take off and look for a better place or if ive packed one deploy a LAV and scout he area a bit until I findthe material mix i'm looking for. Got the right stuff? I deploy a command centre and a storage block and begin to create pipelines to the extractors and refineries that are required to form more complex material that the planet produces at a basic level. Material routing works as it does now. Also collecting material from the surface works using the POCO as now but also by surface landing.

While I am building I come across someone elses pipeline. I can either build around it - which maybe costly or remove it by force (this would require a wardec in empire owned space) and merely generate a notification elsewhere. My installation completed i take off and seamlessly fly back to the station.

Occasionally using a similar spawn mechanic to incursions planet bound drone swarms may decend on a system and inhibit the amount of material a PI2.0 installation outputs.

Clones on the ground PVE 1.0 -

In the event of a drone infestation a single clone or his corp mates maybe able to go down to the planet in a similar way using a ship kitted out with spare biomass and equipment should they perish while trying to clear the drones. Essetially the clones would work together (and with other groups of clones) to clear the areas of the planet. This would also need them to travel to other parts of the world via Jet/Drop ship to assist other clones. Once the drone infestation is cleared from an area the production facility output returns to normal. But unless the planet and then the system is cleared the infestation could return.

In Lowsec/0.0 Larger drones/groups of drones an be encountered which may need heavy vehicles to take them or even assistance from space (orbital bombardment)

Incursions PVE 2.0

If the above is the ground based version of belt ratting. There must also be missions and other forms of PVE that can be enjoined on foot.

My ground installation require people to operate them. Those nasty sansha are dropping down from blockades around the planet and stealing my men. I must clear the area of freaky borg zombie types.

Missions PVE 3.0

In a similar vein to EVEs missons - Joe Bloggs has stolen a quafe formula he is sunbathing on planet 3 - kill him.

Take lander ship land in flagged district. Scout the area and snipe the sucker. Return for reward.

WARDECS

Just as now but you can destroy planetary infrastructure as well. No OB's in highsec though. Take one of the langer lander ships loaded with a few tanks.

LOWSEC/0.0

Similar to highsec but you can raid/pilfer and destroy infrastructure etc - plant your flag and it contributes/takes away ground control points in the system sov. Basically all out war on the planet as well as in space as well as all of the above.

You would also be able to capture stations and space infrastructure in this way in 0.0 by use of clone carriers as shown in the prophecy trailer.

The gameplay would have to be relatively seamless between this and EVE in my vision (dream?) through flying in space/transitioning into orbital flight then lander and going into avatar mode. The one thing i really like about this that DUST doesnt have it the maps would not be preset maps like we have now. You would be fighting around a map that someone (or yourself) created when laying down your PI or larger installation that may become available in lowsec/0.0 for production etc. So no pre-designed maps only pre designed buildings placed where the player who built the area wants them.

note: I have posted this here not in the dust forums cus its a dream that i can do this in EVE and not in a seperate peice of software from the same laucher or on a different platform. It also combines concepts that have been shown in the past or are in eve in what i consider to be an incomplete form i.e orbital/suborbital flight, meaningful avatar gameplay.

CCP is following the star citizen model. Now before you all flip out, let me explain.

CCP has EVE, the inspace game play with some avatar stuff tossed in for ***** and giggles.

CCP is making Valkariye with his the dog fighting/twitch combat people want

CCP has dust, which I don't think was done to its full potential, so now CCP is making Legion.

Roumer has it, of a 4th product (at the time of WoD 5th product..) unless its legion, could be used to tie all in together. At fan fest 2014 Tofi said that we would basicly have 1 char for 3 games. But he mentioned the ability to do this with 4 levels of conicouness (four games) take that for what you will.

CCP has/is releasing them as there own games, with very little tie in.

SC has two of 4 games coming, but they will all tie in together at some point.

I think CCP, if things are good and valk, legion, and ??? do well, we may see everything combined in the future. Which would mean lots of possibilities. But I like ccp's approcach better, as I can play two of there games in full and help fund the others if I wish but you know, using an actual product.

Ok sounds good and all, but will I be able to do this with ISBoxer and 50 PLEXed accounts to increase profits exponentially?
