Hey,

Brand new character looking to get into FW. Planning to fly amarr (will be trying punisher, executioner and crucifier). However, I'm stuck choosing a faction. I'm looking for the best chance of finding fights USTZ. Anyone that can give a rundown on how each faction is currently doing?

Thanks in advance.

I amy be wrong, but unless you have an alt, you can not join Gallente or minmatar. So you have to choose between Amarr and Caldary. Not long ago Caldary lost every FW system they have had. Now gallente FW corp let them capture some back. So if you join caldari you will see much more good interesting PvP. But as brand new char you will not be able to do much and will lose a lot. More action but not sure if more fun.
Amarr now do same thing as gallente did. Only versus minmatar. So it is more safe and easy to learn. Also more boring, IMHO. But as a brand new char you will get plenty of adrenaline even in such circumstances.

So my (also FW newbee) very humble opinion is that you should start with amarr and later on, when minmatars will have no systems left, you will join caldari as semi-experienced FW pilot.

all CSM member have been from minmatar or gallente militia so only real option is to join those because CCP seems to listen CSM.

You can join any faction no matter what you fly. I don't see how either side of FW is more or less busy that the other; if you don't mind creating some of your own content you should be fine no matter what.

Amarr Jesus saves though. Just saying.

You can join any faction.

If I were you I would look for a FW corp you seem to like and then for the Faction. Corp is more important than anything in this game.

I enjoy Amarr militia and wouldn't want to change it. Contact Artuard Envien - he usually finds time to talk to newbros and if you do indeed want to pvp (instead of just accumulating riches :P) he might be able to help you out.

I think Gallente has the strongest US TZ.

Caldari is mostly russians and germans.
Amarr is a decent mix but I mostly see brits around.
Minmatar is also decently mixed I think.

My advice would be to play "Eeny, meeny, miny, moe" That should yield you picking an excellent faction. Honestly, the faction you pick doesn't matter, but what corp you join does.

The corp is what matters. Faction is just a "color".

Amarr are just gold lovers and it's terrible to talk to them.

Minmatar just suck, somehow that militia turned out to be bad.

Caldari are worse, they barely reach the level of the Minmatar.

and Gallente are just too good to the point that it's no fun.

conclusion: Go pirate Pirate seriously, you'll get the best chances for PVP if you're against everyone.

And now that i think of it, FW needs a 5th faction - PIRATES Pirate

Pirates would join FW, get kicked out of their home system by 50 people attacking their home system in T1 cheap frigates 24/7, and then leave FW.

They're better off outside the system anyway.

Consider joining a losing side, there will be more targets. Minmatar are are good choice, since Amarr is popular right now.

More targets are good, when you are experienced enough to get fun out of the fight. He is a newbee, so he, himself, will be a target most of the time. I still believe he should rather join safe side till he get skillz.

He's saying that if Pirates became a fifth / nth faction in FW, most pirate corps would have a very difficult time adapting to FW. SNIGG can have a heavy influence in Kinnaka, for example, but you can be damn certain that if they joined a "Pirate FW faction" they'd lose the system inside of a week or two, max.

Most lowsec non-FW corps are not set up to actually hold territory they're at risk of losing. That's likely a big part of why they're in lowsec rather than FW or null.

We Gallente have a saying: "CCP created the Gallente Militia to train the Fighters..."

Alright, when you put it that way it makes sense. I sure as **** wouldn't wanna grind system control.

For the record, this is infact wrong. You need minimum standings to join the FW equivalent of NPC Corps. The TLF, 24thIC, etc. If you join an actual player corp within a FW group then the group's derived standings are the deciding factor and one pilot is unlikely to affect those. You'll also get a better game out of it since the metagame has evolved such that recruiting for all but the most basic fleets from militia channels has become uncommon due to massive alting (quite some time ago infact).

We love you and all your neutral piwat friends just the way you are!

Seriously, having you folks around kinda "outside the system" makes things a lot more interesting in our neck of the woods.
