Which patch?
That thing certainly isn't intended for closing wormholes, if that's what you meant. I highly doubt it ever crossed a Devs mind that this thing might get used for that purpose.

The purpose of this rig is to allow miners the ability to mine for longer times while aligned.

don't think for a second WH's were considered while designing this. The blogger who came up with the idea is a miner (noizygamer).

We will, however, find a way to make it valuable to us.

Since it looks like it'll be a T1 rig, shouldn't be that expensive so destroying them at will is definitely an option.

You're young, you'll adjust. I'm old, I'll get used to it.

No, you are all wrong. The REAL reason for the rig was so that people couldn't steal your capitals anymore because they'd have too much mass to leave a C5/6. The original name for the rig was "The Club". Now if there were just some way to make a rig permanent I could really keep my Phoenix safe.

As usual, the DEVs were thinking only of the well-being of wormholers with their new content, and this is no exception.

I also wanna convince people to put these on their falcons "because aligning out takes you out of range too fast". lol

Yeah, well, it's just like my opinion, man.

Seriously? How hard is it to get a mining buddy, fill mids with webs, web each other down to 1m/s, and mine aligned that way?

Does that help against bumping? I don't think so. This rig is made just to stop CODE, it would seem.

Then I would like to edit my first statement to "When you have to make a new module to counter a single entity in EVE..."

e: Also, to avoid being bumped, right click asteroid > orbit.

Well concord was altered to counter a single entity. So was creation of gateguns. What do they really teach new pilots at the acadamies these days?

*shrugs* So, I can make a battleship the same size as an orca for 1/5 (or less) the cost.

Doesn't this put the safety back into W-space? I'm not sure I understand the intent of the last patch with this new rig. I'll use it, but it just seems convoluted as hell.

This rig is are garbage for rolling.

They weren't introduced for wormholes either, they're apparently for miners so that they don't get out of range of rocks as quickly if they're mining aligned--LOL.

Fozzie can you just revert the stupid change to wh jumps? pls?

one thing you guys are assuming so far is that these rigs will be available in all sizes :)

if you look at how ccp has seeded these in the past, that hasn't always been true. don't be surprised if it's only available in the medium and/or large flavor. I don't see these being made available for capital rig sizes. Shall see though.

So, based on my C2 roll holling in a Geddon with one of these, first off they increase all mass by 100% including plates and MWDs, which means that a geddon can't actually hit that perfect 300m mass for our holes because the rig puts it at around 210m without plates and the MWD puts it over 300. Based on the single roll I have used the ship for it didn't actually require less rolls, maybe if we had another person or two doing it it would help. The slow boat back to the hole doesn't get that much worse, although it is a little slower. Align time is definitely faster so bouncing is easier. Just my .02 isk, basically not all that helpful for me.

Use a ship like the Megathron, you can get 299.8m mass with a 800mm plate, if you don't have armor layering. Very useful for me as I no longer need that Orca.

Thanks! I know I need another ship but I wasn't sure which one.

Tempest works as well, but I am guessing that that rig is not supposed to work like that. At least imo, it doesn't make sense. But hey, rolling orca instead of dread isn't horrible for higher classes?
