Stupid things weve done

So what was the last really stupid thing you have done in game?

One for me was warping around very hostile space in a hac. when i noticed local spike. I was alone, no backup, no intel channels, nothing. i bounced around several celestials but they remained in local. F this i thought im outta here. Warped to a celestial near enough to a gate to scan it nothing on scan. Warped to gate, feeling calm. Hitting dscan every couple of seconds ...so far so good, nothing on sca... OH ****. so much **** landed on gate at the same time as me i began to get paranoid that i was being followed the whole time.

Shifting that thought aside i jumped as soon as i landed, activated the GTFO tab on overview selected a random celestial and warped off. sure enough they entered system. i bounced around a bit and then they left local. Massive sigh of relief, heart still pumping. i stop and try to think. maybe they were just passing thru? i have no idea which gate they left thru. i waited 5 mins maybe, just bouncing. then decided that the best thing to do was double back on myself and hopefuly lose them that way (if they were even after me)

Wapred to near gate and scanned it. all clear, but id they are on the other side...**** it im going home. null sec is too scary.

Jumped thru the gate and... nothing. Local was relatively low and all looked clear. I was so happy and elated i just warped to the out gate.

All still fine. this is awesome im going home. Im warping gate to gate now. A few gates down and guess whos waiting. yessir the same god damn fleet.

I was too busy patting myself on the back to notice the large numbers in local. And theyd smartened up. leaving heavy and light tackle on the other side of the gate in the form of a vengeance and something else cant rememebr.

Anyway as soon as i decloak im pointed . I then make another yes another effing mistake. i targeted the light tackle and not the vengeance (who was scramming me). took out the light tackle turned my attention to the af. then the fleet who had jumped thru by now decloaked and i went pop.

lucky no dictors so my pod got out safe.

anyways im hoping that people will share similar stories.

Got shitfaced one night, was quite a new player and had just barely afforded to buy a Faction Tempest. Took it missioning.

Woke up the next morning, undocked, noticed it was smoking. Had 1% hull left, and no idea how I'd let it get that bad or managed to escape the mission.

During Burn Jita I was really high ...
... sitting in Jita ...
... and got excited over this marvellous idea of ...
... buying all the catalysts within six jumps reach.

Or maybe not all, I don't recall exactly.

So I did and giggled happily. :D

I still got them all ....... xD

Walked away and somehow forgot to dock up shiny ship while drinking a few beers and playing. What happened next was...predictable.

I remember this bombing run I was on... We had scanned down the enemy safespot and were cloak-burning towards bombing range of their staging pack and then my cat hopped on my laptop and hit a few F-keys. Cue in everyone getting decloaked, me firing my bomb early and half the newbies in fleet doing the same. Luckily we managed to get them on a gate 2 hours later.

My cat is now known as Beatrice, the lapbomber...

I was going away for the weekend, but wasn't in a rush, and a ping went out for a fight-in-progress. I thought, I've got a couple of hours, no problem. Grabbed ship, got in fleet.

We went about two jumps, and piled through the gate in to the enemy fleet. Seems the enemy FC was primarying by alphabet, as I was immediately red-boxed, my Hurricane turned into space dust, and my pod shortly after. I'm sure I picked a few choice curse-words, and ragelooged, taking only (spot the obvious omission) enough time to switch in to my (+5's) learning clone which was in the same station, before going out.

Fast forward three days. I got home from my weekend away, turned on the PC, and a ping immediately popped up for a fleet going out. Was about ten minutes old, so rushed to log in in time before the fleet left. Grabbed the first vaguely-correct ship I had (a shield Harbinger, what was I thinking), and jumped in fleet. I'm sure everyone can see where this is going. Four jumps later, and we went through a gate straight in to the enemy fleet. Maybe we were facing the same FC, maybe it was just me being the obvious victim of a Harbinger in a shield BC fleet, but yet again, immediately red-boxed, instantly vapourised.

Cue more swearing. Followed by "crap, I forget to insure the ship". So I opened up my flashing notification tab to check how much isk I didn't get, and I immediately wonder why I have an extra mail. Yep, guess who forgot to upgrade their clone, say goodbye to Advanced Weapons Upgrades 5. I started to half swear when another thought went through my head... the learning clone.

In one act of ragelogging and carelessly rushing to join a fleet, I lost an uninsured ship, a full set of +5 implants (why I had a Charisma I honestly don't know), and AWU5. The only bright side was this was a week before the Learning Skillpoint reimbursement, but was still a major bummer.

That's a mistake you only make once.

Talking about bombing runs: On my first bombing run ever, I decloaked as the FC told me and started to lock a target in the group of ships we were hunting. Meanwhile my fleet mates launched their bombs and warped away.

I didn't know bomb launchers work without having an active target. Straight

When I finally had a lock and launched the bomb, the battleships with sensor boosters also had a lock on me and sniped me.

Ratting Tach oracle warping at 0 in a skirmish involving enemy inty. I don't consider myself good at this game but I think that was a lower level even...

After a long tiring day I thought I'd quickly log in and go through a few systems before going to bed. I probed what I assume was an explorer and warped right on top of him. During the warp as I'm checking things in preparation for the incoming fight I notice my ship has no guns fitted. I had loaned the guns to another ship earlier while testing fittings for it and forgotten to return them. I land on the target and he starts to accelerate away. I then bravely warp away as he cloaks up. Nothing is said in local as I log off and go to bed.

I like to play a little game called "race the Ambien".

Ambien is a prescription medication to help you sleep. Think of it as NyQuil but with a knockout punch that hits you anywhere from 15 - 45 minutes after you take it. The awesome thing for me is that it also causes memory loss. So I can remember events up to about 5 minutes after I take it but then nothing.

So I like to take it and then start a lvl 4 mission. Some days I wake up and have a little more isk in the bank. Other days I wake either in a pod or in a smoldering ship. Either way, it adds excitement to missioning.

Playing station games on the 4-4 undock in a faction battleship and being way above the Ballmer peak, when my computer decides to throw a surprise BSOD.
But turned out the pilot engaging me in his Legion failed hard at internet spaceships and after my computer restarted and I logged in expecting to see my capsule at the character selection screen, it turned out I was somehow still in my battleship so I docked up just as I entered half structure, laughing the most I had done in a long time.
Best part is, I killed the same guy's faction battleship minutes earlier.

I survived my youth and here's how: I didn't do anything with drunks.
You might wonder why. If you do, you must be a drunk.
You don't wonder why at all. If not, you know exactly what I mean.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.
